anyone else notice these lines, they are very faint, can see the lines better on close ups of faces, this happens through out the whole movie on both discs

I noticed them. Also anyone notice excessive EE or ringing when the sub-titles came on around the letters?

Yes on the subtitles. They didn't look all that great. But subtitles seldom do, so I don't really even notice anymore.

When all is said and done I really am not impressed at all with the PQ on this. Overall the picture seems blurry in many areas lacking detail. I guess this has to do with the filtering process in the mastering i have been reading people have said was used.

I noticed the subtitle problem...it wasn't on ALL the subtitles, but I noticed it the most during the Aragorn/Arwen conversations.

Fed-Ex Pope:

My Panasonic used to do the same thing. Then I discovered that there is a black adjustment in the menu settings. I changed it and the problem went away. Used to bug the living crap out of me!
