To my knowledge, Criterion has only price reduced a title ONCE in their entire 20-year history (laserdisc and DVD).
That was the DVD for Chasing Amy.
I'd say that it's not very bloody likely that Criterion will reduce Life of Brian. Why would they?

To put it absolutely bluntly, confidential investigations have proved the slight possibility that the DVD might or might not get a price drop sooner or later
j/k, you're probably better off ordering it right away

Armageddon and Chasing Amy had price drops because they were technically Buena Vista releases. (This is also why The Royal Tenenbaums was so cheap relative to other Criterion SEs.) I don't know why The Unbearable Lightness of Being was reduced; probably because it was going OOP and it wasn't a particularly popular title and they wanted to clear out their inventory. Anyway, a price drop for LoB is pretty unlikely.

As has been pointed out, price drops on Criterion titles are nearly unheard-of (the retail price did drop on The Unbearable Lightness of Being, but only after it went OOP). They will occasional package related titles into a box with a lower price point (as they did with the Kurosawa samurai titles & the Hitchcocks), but the retail of the individual titles remains the same.
As you know, Criterion is not a studio. When the major studios drop prices, it's often their way of reducing stock on titles about to be re-released. As a rule, Criterion tends to put out the Definitive Edition the first time (the exceptions to this rule are well-documented in other threads), so there's no reason to drop the prices on their titles.

Even though I'd like any number of Criterions to drop a little in price, I know they ever won't. It's fine by me though... they're excellent discs

I really don't think this is much of a release. I don't think much of the video quality and I rate the audio even lower.
I have a lot of Criterion titles that I think highly of. Just not this one.
Perhaps picking it up used (if you want the commentary). Or perhaps wait for a better release. That is more likely than a Criterion price drop ...

Armageddon had a price-drop? What the hell did it use to retail at? $49.95?! One of the reasons, I'm sure, Chasing Amy had a price-drop and The Royal Tenebaums retails for cheaper than other Criterions is that these are the only Region 1 releases of these movies on DVD.

Well, you can scour eBay for the thing and try to get a reduced cost one that way. Or you can bite the bullet and buy thing thing. The most it'd fall to I think is the $20 range or so, and I got mine at Best Buy for 32 bucks, so I think the 12 bucks is worth it if you are a fan of the film and/or Python, especially considering there may NEVER be a drop and it could even go OOP before it drops. It's not like you aren't getting your money's worth, two of my favorite commentaries are on this disc.
