Lucio Fulci's "Cat in the Brain" - Region 1, when?

What's the story here? I know at one point this was supposed to get released, and then nothing happened. I recently saw in a UK mag that a Region 2 edition just became available, what's the tie-up on this side of the pond?

I've been wanting to see this too, ever since I found the easter egg on The Beyond dvd. Looks hilarious!

from the back cover of the Region 2 UK DVD release:

Movie maestro Lucio Fulic (sp) plays a horror film director in this gore-drenched chiller. Fantasy and reality blur as decapitations, stabbings, dismemberments and chainsaw attacks plague him in nightmarish re-enactments of horrific moments from his repertoire. Believing he may be a killer, he visits a psychiatrist to be hypnotized. But is he truly a murderer, or has the blood-soaked world of horror finally tipped him over the edge?

and this passed the BBFC? The 'Easter Egg' trailer from The Beyond looks exceedlingly graphic

Wow. I'm gonna have to whip out my copy of the Beyond and find that easter egg!

I too enjoy Fulci's films. You have to love a man who will inject speaking with the dead and cannibalism into a western.
