X-Men Collection, The: X-Men/ X2
Has anybody got this release already ? What is the packaging like? I mean is it a fold-out digipack packaging with four DVDs in it or a cardboard box with 2 amareys? Gotta know it urgently, men!
thx |
i haven't seen it myself, but i'm assuming it would be normal 2 packs + box
Someone asked the same thing a few days ago. I Someone said it was a digipac
I too heard it was a 4 disc digipak. Fox is starting a bad trend here putting movies and their sequels in these cases (i.e. the Alien Quadrilogy and the X-Men flicks).
I think digipacks are great. Looks much better when you open up the case, like the TTT EE.
Does someone have a picture of the X-1.5/X2 2 disc box? |
Yeah, I love digipacks. I'd almost consider getting rid of my current X-Men 1.5 set to buy this new set, since X2 normally comes in an Amaray and I want the two to match...

Heres the box art. It comes with X Men 1.5 and ofcourse X2. Hope thats what you were lookng for! |
Cool cover art. Too bad I already purchased 1.5
ah!! lousy 4-disc digipak! I hate it! I thought they'd release them in amareys.. you can't have everything :(
thx anyway! |
Has anyone heard if there is another disk that they are going to release? I would hate to buy this then find out they are coming out with X-Men 2.5. Like the first one I have yet to upgrade.

Like the first one I have yet to upgrade. David Blair gives the movie DVDTalk's highest rating here: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=7447 Aaron Beierle gives the movie a highly recommended here: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=8284 Both of these reviewers are excellent and know their stuff. I think that if you read those, you may find that the audio/video/extras are about as good as you want them. If you feel there is room for improvement, wait three months for the press release telling all of us that we were screwed. Then you can buy the new edition. |
I do not own either of the X-Men movies, although I'd like to. This box set sounds pretty tasty, although I too am a bit apprehensive due to the fact that X-Men 2.5 and 3 will probably be arriving soon.
Xmen 3 is stated to be relaseds in 2005 at the very earliest, which means probably like 2006
I doubt we'll be seeing an X-Men 2.5 anytime soon too.
Maybe just X-Men 2.2 and then 2.5
Ha, ha, nice. Personally though, I think turning DVD special editions into digits is beyond stupid.
I cant wait to get this
is X-2 in a two disc digipack like Xmen 1.5?
i want them to match |
No, X2 comes in an Amaray. I'm the same way about movie series matching, which is why I'd like to have this 4-disc set instead.
I just got the set from Amazon today. I must admit..a very nice choice of color on the box. The packaging is very similiar to the Lord Of The Rings 4 DVDs set (extended version). The box cover has a silvery foil look inside...nice :)
I'm waiting for X-Men 2.?

Oooh I want the 4 disc digipack so bad!! My friend just bought it so Im going over there to check it all out this weekend and see what its like. I'm definately going to have to "borrow" his copy for awhile until I get mine for christmas ;)
My widescreen version is blue not white. Anyone see the white version?
Silly question: Does this have anything that X-Men 1.5 and the X2 release doesn't?
Originally posted by GatorDeb Silly question: Does this have anything that X-Men 1.5 and the X2 release doesn't? They have the same exact discs with the same content only with different packaging. I thought about getting the set but then I thought...after X3 comes out, they're probably going to sell the single movie in an Amaray and a set of all three in one digipak. So, if you buy the current 4-disc set, you might have to buy the six-disc digipak set or buy the single movie with a mismatching Amaray. So I stuck with the X2 Amaray. At least my X-Men 1.0 and 1.5 are in digipaks and they match. I doubt there will be an X2.5. The current set already has DTS, two commentaries and a slew of docs. |
Yes, a nice outer box ;)
Question: Does the actual disc for X-men in the set still say X-men 1.5?

So do the discs in the Collection set have DTS (like the individual releases)? I looked at the back of the box really quickly the other day and didn't see it mentioned. Did I just miss that info on the case, or is it not there?
I think they are the same discs as the individual releases. The only difference is that the collection gets a custom digipak for all 4 discs.

Does anybody's X-Men Collector's digipak stick out about 1/10 inch from the actual box??? I just wondered because mine does and it already got a bit banged up in shipping. So I might send it back...
