The Munsters coming to DVD

I don't have specifics, but a very reliable source says there will be a Munsters DVD release next year to coincide with the 40th anniversary. Tentatively set for Summer 2004 is all I know. Whether this means the tv series(which I am almost 100 % sure it is), or the movies I do not know. Just thought I would pass this along.

I'd rather have The Addams Family too.

Since next year is that show's 40th anniversary as well, maybe we'll get both!

Please, they both pale compared to "The Munsters Today."

I actually would welcome the Addams Family too, it's just for me, The Munsters is the superior show.

Yay! The Munsters are one of my favorite shows (stop threadcrapping Addams Family people!) I hope your source is right and we get the tv show on DVD.

I'd buy seasons sets of both series. They both ran just 2 seasons (1964-66) so we are only talking 4 sets if they do it right.

Bring out both of 'em, and the cartoon versions, too! I have a couple of laserdiscs of The Addams Family, and I have the two Munsters movie DVDs that are out...

What happened the year before that studios thought monster related sitcoms would fill seats?

Great news! Although I like the Munsters more I would love a Addams Family DVD set too!

I wonder with only three seasons (70 episodes) if Universal will just release one boxed set. That would be sweet

Actually, it only aired for two seasons, not three. So did The Addams Family.

You're right, I was thinking 3 years (1964, 65 and 66) equaled 3 seasons, not taking into consideration that season one began in '64 and ended in '65 and then season 2 began in '65 then ended in '64. So two seasons in one set seems even more feesible.

Rather than arguing about which show is better, I'll just join LivingINClip for asking what the source of this info is. I'm afraid I just can't get excited about this since I don't see anyone else mentioning it.

Maybe STEVEIGNORANT is just that well-known around here as being accurate with such info...I don't know, since I don't get the time to hang out here often enough. But I'd buy The Munsters if it came out!

You can't miss with either one of these shows. They both had great characters. Too bad they never had an Addams Family meets the Munsters movie. I hope this info is correct. Because if one comes out and does well the other won't be far behind.
