Displaying the Bond sets?

Just picked up Bond sets 2 and 3(already had set 1 and never say never again and casino royale) so am now the proud owner of every friggin bond movie ever made lol.

The first thing i did after buying sets 2 and 3 was to take all the movies out of there respective boxes(includeing set 1) and put them back in chronological(i know that is spelled wrong,so sue me) order starting with Dr. No and ending with die another day, so that the movies are not all in the original boxes they came in(well some of them are lol) just wondering if anyone else did this?

I'll third the discussion. Did the same thing, but this was with the old Bond set. Kept the boxes they came in, but they are no longer in that order.

Congrats on completing the set!

I'd totally organize them based on year. I only have the first box and Never Say Never, but hopefully will be getting the other two boxes later this week to complete my collection. That's gonna look cool!

I have them in their film order but I printed out some covers from dvdca so that I have a nice continuous spine.

I put all the official Bond movies in order as well. It worked out nice with the Connery/Lazenby movies in one box, Moore movies in another, and Dalton/Brosnan in the last box.

I did the same thing. "Dr. No" through "Diamonds Are Forever" in Volume 1, "Live and Let Die" through "A View To A Kill" in Volume 2, and "The Living Daylights" through "Die Another Day" in Volume 3. You spelled "chronological" correctly, by the way.

You could go all out and blow another $50-$70 on a custom box

That sounds like a great idea. I just finished my set yesterday like you with Bond sets 2 & 3. I was thinking about how to display it. It just looks "funky" the way MGM ordered the titles.

Also, what are you doing with duplicates? I ended up with an extra Die another Day and Moonraker. I guess I could Flea-bay them.

I lay them out all over my bed, push them out to the edges, and sleep in the middle. It's great.

I like to put a bottle of Dom Perignon on ice and snuggle under a polarbearskin in front of a roaring fire with a beautiful view of the Swiss Alps with mine.

Casino Royale is a spoof.
Never Say Never Again was the result of a lawsuit (don't remember the details). Basically, someone sued over the story for Thunderball and the court allowed them to make their own version, but it is basically just a crappy (IMHO) rehash of Thunderball. They did get Connery back though, which was kinda cool, so in 1983, you had Connery Bond in NSNA and Moore's Bond in Octopussy. At least, I think that is the way it played out, but I am not sure on the details.

So on your shelf, do you put them under B? I know Best Buy does, but that just seems strange to me. I definitely want to keep them together, so I've actually been thinking of putting them at the very front of collection under "0".

I for one...do not use an alpha system. this would make my library look totally out of control. my Bonds are in the "spy and spy spoof" section. filed by release year. my library is built based on a mix of genre and director for the most part.

They're in the MGM section of my collection. I like having the studio icons lining up.
