I downloaded and installed the beta version a while ago, and it would not sort by title - as one previous post has reported. Is anybody else having this problem with the official release? I had to uninstall the beta version and then reinstall the older version. Seeing as I sort my collection by title so that I can easily find what I'm looking for, then the program is worthless to me if it cannot sort by title. Please report on the "sort by title" situation. Thanks!

The new build 744, has corrected that problem. It really bugged me too, but it works fine now!

You're absolutely correct, it now DOES sort by title without a glitch. And, as reported on their website - the processing time when the program downloads the updated profile list, conversion rates, etc. is now much quicker. That's VERY NICE! Seemed like it used to take forever to process the downloaded updates. I haven't had a chance to explore all of the new enhancements yet, but it looks nice. Oh, and the installation even recognized my premium registration! That's a nice touch!

I had download the new version when this thread first came up and had an odd problem.

I had entered in a few new DVDs and resorted my collection numbers by date purchased. I refreshed everything and uploaded it all to my online collection. Things seemed ok.

Later on I went back and it had resorted my collection again and the numbers were all out of order. I downloaded the correct version from my online collection and backed up the correct version. So far it's holding but I thought it was odd. The older version never gave me a bit of problems.

I also had an annoying counting issue with the previous version. See, I enter each individual movie in a box set separately (Superman, Superman 2, etc) with its own number. But, I also enter the actual box set but I do not give the boxsets a number. That helps me keep track of the number of actual movies as well as keep records for when I loan things to family, etc. Anyways, everything always sorted right, except the unnumbered box sets. If I sorted by collection number, they would all be at the top, but in no apparent order. Since they had no collection numbers, I assumed the boxes would sort alphabetically. They never did. However, with the latest update, the finally do and now one of my DVDProfiler pet peeves is taken care of. Now, if only I could have custom folders online like DVDAF...then I would be set.

Well, it no longer takes a half an hour to add by title, so I'm happy with this release.

I may even upgrade to the registered version now to thank them.

Go to Tools - Options - Parental Control.

Then you have:

Hide adult titles in online listing and
Hide adult titles in collection at startup

jough,

You don't have the registered version. Ohhhh, man.

ChrisHicks,

I see the little lady is coming over and you wanna hide those..."special" sentimental movies. It's okay.

Best part about registering: High Quality Cover Images

cisco1959 - WEIRD! I still have the "overviews" tab, and it actually has an overview in it! Yeah - weird, maybe try a reinstall! Did anything weird happen while you were installing, like did your computer crash or something??

I never really cared much about the cover images, because if I wanted to look at a cover I could turn around and pull the disc off my shelf.

I haven't registered yet because it hasn't worked very well until now. I wouldn't add new titles for a month or two usually because it was such a chore - it would take me about a half an hour to add five titles using the "Add by Title" tab.

Now it's a lot faster - only about 10 minutes. :-/

How about not putting them in there on the first place?

It's a good idea to backup your collection often - I do it just about every time I open the program after having issues doing upgrades in the past.

My only complaint with DVDProfiler has always been the delay in getting new titles added to the db, but that's just the way the system is built so no use worrying about it.

Has anyone noticed Profiler running slower with this new build? I swear that it takes twice as long when I start it as it used to. Still, it's a great tool.

Quite the opposite, I've noticed it is much quicker.

Well, what exactly do you mean by slow? Describe the symptoms. Also what kind of computer do you have and what operating system are you using?

Did anyone ever figure out why some people (myself included) got build 743 instead of 744? It seems to work fine for me, but I'm wondering if there is a reason to try and get 744.

I'm not sure why some people received build 743. But, if you open DVD Profiler & check for an update, it should let you know there is a more current version. Then download 744.

For some reason all the DVDs I own do not show up after uploading to My Profiler. I haven't checked them all, but I noticed that my Battle Royale DVD isn't listed on the net even though it's listed in my database.
