WTF! Trouble With Angels FULL-FRAME only?

Just got back from Best Buy and noticed this, damnit! Gotta remember to keep looking closer. The back says "Remastered in High-Definition", too!

Yeah, I bought it before I noticed it. Didn't want the sequel, so I don't know about that one.

Well, I just put in in to see if the cover was wrong. There's the title."This film hs been modified... formatted to fit this screen." Pretty lame.

Anyone know original aspect ratio?
Guessing must be 1.37 or so, as Columbia almost...
always release movies in original aspect ratios.
Columbia has been tops in my book right from start of DVDs.
Sure hope not going down hill with many other companies?
I know one thing, won't waste my $ on Pan & Scan.

Their upcoming so-called special editions of Annie and Matilda are fullscreen too.

I think it's safe to say they're going downhill.

No, it's the 1982 theatrical version of Annie, and it doesn't seem to be a typo.

I hope you're right about Matilda; I was really looking forward to that one.

Columbia has released lots of movies fullscreen, regretably these are just 2 more in a long list.

The TV version is owned by Disney, not CTHE.

Both films were recently shown on Turner Classic Movies in widescreen (1.85). If Sony/Columbia has widescreen masters, why not put them on the DVD? Or at least both versions of each movie. This is weak Sony...you shouldn't be sellin' it, because I ain't buyin' it.
