The distributor is Delta, the quality is crap.
You're much better off with the Image release:
Charlie Chaplin Short Comedy Classics: The Complete Resored Essanay & Mutual Collection
Six discs (15 hours), produced by the King of Silent Restoration, David Shepard, plus a bonus documentary. All for less than $75.
Caveat emptor: It is wise to avoid the releases of DVD companies named after letters of the Greek alphabet (Alpha, Delta, etc.).

The same set can be bought at bestbuy.com for
~ $61.
Chaplin Set.
I've been thinking about getting this myself, but didn't really read up much on it. Now might be a good time.

However, that would not give you any of Chaplin's Keystone films... of which the Delta set has all of them. If you are interested in these (and not everyone will be... the Keystone phase is definitely not great Chaplin), I'd advise getting the Image box and the first few Delta volumes. They are available individually for about $5 a pop.

Yes I already have the Image set and is glorious! I think I will take the plunge on this Delta one. The price is too good.

If you just want the Keystone shorts, why not just buy those first 4 volumes? That'll save you a good $25...

Well I figured I could offload the extras that do overlap as you point out but knowing me I will probably keep and then and use to do some comparisons between the two and I do hate to break up a box. Probably more prudent to just purchase the individual titles as you suggest though. Decisions..decisions.

AVOID this set!
There is a 7-disc set with ALL of the Mutual and Essanay shorts in restored form from Image and Film Preservation Associates.
However, you'll have to do some looking around for the Keystone shorts. I wouldn't be surprised if Kino or FPA came out with a collection in a few years...but the shorts aren't that good as a whole, nor are they in very good condition.
