Alien Quadrilogy.... Discs available separately??

Does anyone know if the Alien movies in the upcoming set will be available separately? I am only interested in buying Alien and Aliens. I don't want parts 3 and 4. Will I be able to buy just the first 2, or am I screwed and half to buy them all?

Quoth the press release:

"On January 6, 2004, the Alien singles DVD discs will land. The two-disc Collector’s Editions of Alien, Aliens, Alien3 and Alien Resurrection will be loaded with the never-before-available versions of each film, plus commentaries from the world-renowned directors, behind-the-scenes featurettes and much more for a SRP of $26.98 U.S./$37.98 Canada. Pre-book date for the singles is December 10, 2003. The Alien Quadrilogy bonus disc is exclusive to the box set."

I wasn't sure if I really needed to have a longer version of Alien3, but I guess I'll go with the set to get the extra disc. Missed out on that one last time!

FYI . . . check out this thread. It should have pretty much everything that you could want to know about the Aliens movies' re-release (or at least links to places where you can find out).

Do you we think we could lock this thread and keep discussion about the Quadrilogy to the thread posted above?

The problem is it gets tiring having to look through (what will become a very long thread) about a single topic such as individual release date.

For myself, I only want Alien. Nice to hear both versions on it.

Don't you think it's just as tiring for the people who know the information to have to post it in multiple threads?

From the VERY FIRST post in that thread:

"On Jan. 6, the films will be available individually on DVD for $26.98 each."

Yeah, and I'm sure there will be excellent deals on the set once it's released... making it even more tempting.
