I haven't seen this DVD yet so I can't speak for it's quality (hopefully someone else can tell us if it's picture and sound are good), but I just wanted to post that this movie is REALLY good! It's my gold star recomendation of the year. I saw it at a local film festival way back in 2001. Since it seems to have gone direct to video I don't want anyone to miss it.

Funny, clever, and has a great cast filled with cameos from big stars. It's a really great film. Check it out.

Hadn't heard of it 'til a few days ago, but it came up as recommended on the netflix new releases... looked it up on imdb, and decided to give it a shot. It should be in my mailbox today. Thanks for the confirmation

Okay... just finished watching it... as far as DVD quality, both picture and sound quality were a little better than I expected for a film like this (and yes, it was anamorphic)... there's also a director's commentary and a little bit of behind-the-scenes stuff included, though I didn't check any of that out.

The film itself was enjoyable, with a few very funny moments, and it never takes itself seriously enough (or serious at all for that matter) that it loses focus on just being a quirky, enjoyable diversion. Chris Cooper and Michael J. Fox have great little cameos, though Cooper's role is a little more than that. Was it great? No. Will I go out and recommend it to people? No. But I enjoyed it enough to be glad I saw it.

I enjoyed the copy that I bought but it's a one-view only type of DVD.

JonTurner, you enjoyed it enough to be glad you saw it but wouldn't recommend it for others to see? I'm not sure I understand that.

Like Pants, I caught this flick at a local film festival (Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival...aka: FLIFF), and was one of the best flicks that I saw there. I enjoyed this film quite a lot. I've not been able to find it for purchase in any of the local B&M...also heard it was Fullscreen only...but a friend of mine rented it from Netflix, and sure enough, it was widescreen. Enjoyed even more seeing it the second time around. Once I find it, it's mine!

PS: Stay away from the town of Morlaw!

Yeah... let me rephrase a bit. I wouldn't recommend it to most of my friends / family to spend their time with... but for film buffs like most everyone here on these boards, it's worth checking out. That makes a little more sense
