DVD Talk Limited Edition
Amc: Dvd Tv
I just saw a commercial on AMC. They have something going on called "DVD TV". I think it's a great idea. They are showing Fatal Attraction on Sunday. First they are showing the full screen version, then the widescreen version, and (I think) maybe some special features. Nifty idea to get people without dvd players interested.

DVD Talk Legend
On Thursday evenings, IFC used to show one of that month's films with audio commentary - don't know if they still do, but it was one of the things that made me jump to DVDs.

A couple of stations are picking up on the Special Edition shows where they're screening all the DVD extras as part of the movie presentation. FX is doing this and I think TBS (when they show Bond movies) is, too. In a way this is good, but it also means the movie lasts for 3 1/2 hours as opposed to the usual 2. Depends on how mnuch you like the movie, I guess.

From: Right now, my location is DVDTalk, but then again, you should already know that, shouldn't you?
Of course, most of the time (all of the time with FX and TBS), they only show the pan-and-scan version...ah, it's like one step forward and one step backward, I tell ya...

I know here in Canada we have this station called "space". They aired T2 some time ago with the added scenes. The best part was that it was in WIDESCREEN. I don't know about other movies but that was hella cool. Just like watching the DVD. BTW i think TBS is poison for movie because of P&S... but what do you expect?!
