Repo Man..OOP?
I've been looknig to get this DVD for awhile now, and i'm wondering, is it out of print? Both versions are out of stock on amazon and it was pulled from Coumbia House's website not too long ago.

I haven't watched my AB version since I bought it.
Is this DVD one of the Anchor Bay rotters?

Does anyone know of an online store that still sells new Anchor Bay discs (don't want the tin LE)? I couldn't find the DVD at suncoast.com. There's some on ebay, but i've always been a bit wary of buying DVDs on ebay.

I don't know about any kind of "list" anywhere, but for a time, Anchor Bay was apparently using substandard materials to manufacture (certain?) DVDs. The result was that the discs would stop playing over time.
Some of these discs include the Hammer films, "Frankenstein Created Woman" and "The Witches," as well as "Heathers" and "Kentucky Fried Movie." I also remember some people having trouble with "The Wicker Man," but I still have my original LE and both still play fine.

The new Universal version that comes out in January is showing up for pre-order at a few places. It looks like it will be a MSRP of $14.95, with a lot of places like DDD ($9.35) selling it for under $10.
I am going to guess that this will be the same version as Anchor Bay, with a lower MSRP. Anyone else think the same?
Since this comes out 4 days before my birthday, I will wait and see what's in store then. I still have my VHS copy that I can watch if I really need to, but I think I can wait 3 months to see the movie on DVD for the first time ever.
Thanks for the drawing my attention to this!

If that's true then I better get my hands on the current version asap. I have seen a few of them around in the stores occasionally, but can't remember where. I think I saw it at Circuit City last a few months ago. And I think Columbia House may still have this, so I can get it as a fulfillment.
Thanks for the update D-Ball.

Well, I got my Repo Man DVD today, along with Edward Scissorhands. Turns out the Repo Man DVD came off it's hub during shipping and there's a rather large scuff on it extending from the center, it still seems to work OK, but it still pisses me off. *sigh*

*Anchor Bay's address and phone numbers:
500 Kirts Blvd.
Troy, MI 48084
810-362-9660 or 800-786-8777
Fax: 810-362-4454
I did a search and found this, too.

You know, I was at the damaged item page awhile ago and filled it out when my Book of the Dead DVD was scratched when I bought it new, and I never heard back from them. This was about 2 1/2 weeks ago (Doesn't really matter now since I already took back BotD to Best Buy and exchanged it for the Sleepaway Camp set).
I guess i'll try and call them tomorrow (can't imagine there's still anyone there at 8:25 EST).

Universal has updated their site, and now it appears that the commentary will be on the new disc. http://homevideo.universalstudios.co...?childId=34446
