SpongeBob Season 1 missing first episode

As I reported in my review (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=8045), the new "SpongeBob SquarePants: Complete Season One" set is missing its first (pilot) episode "Help Wanted," in which SpongeBob gets his job at the Krusty Krab.

Anyone know why it might have been excluded? I know the art is a bit different, and some other things aren't fully realized in that episode, but I think it should have at least been presented as a special feature. Any thoughts?

I'll give this another chance for the afternoon crowd. Anyone care that an episode is missing...? I thought we had some SpongeBob fans out there...

Damn, that sucks. I didn't get the set today because it was a little pricey and i had other stuff to buy but now i might not get it at all. Does anyone know if that episode is on any of the stand alone disks? On a unrelated topic, am i the only one that thinks the newer SpongeBob episodes kind of suck. I guess its bound to happen by the nature of the show itself. I mean theres only so many messed up faces he can make.

Now they need to get started on a Fairly Oddparents Box set. That show is brilliant

Yeah, it is pricey. It's '40' episodes but a lot of the full half hour sets shown on nickelodeon have like 3 'episodes' to fill that half hour slot. I mean that's like what 13 or 14 half hour sittings for 45-50 bux? Man.

Help Wanted is where Spongebob first got hired to work at the Krusty Krab after finding the "impossible to find" spatula and feeding all the anchovies.

I could have sworn this was on one of the stand alone DVDs, because we have them all. But then again, my kids watch the show so often on television as well that I might just be mixed up.

18.99 FOR S1 BOX?!?!?! No way...im online and they have it for 32.99.

Plus if you consider each single 10 episode disc was 14.99 x 4...thats 60.00 for 40 eps right there....I would have like to seen the set for 29.99...but then look at Family Guy 4 Disc set, that was 39.99 also and then the final 3 discs were 39.99 also.

I doubt they'll continue making the 10 episode discs now...unless they're going for maximum money making.

The only way to watch Invader Zim on DVD is to make your own... which is currently what I am doing

So, has anyone figured out if it is available through an Easter Egg or something? All of their pre-release info stated that it was going to be part of the DVD.

The box set lists that it has the origin of Spongebob, I'm assuming that's "Help Wanted"

Plus, the box lists the other parts of the episode that had "Help Wanted", "Reef Blowers" and "Tea at the Treedome".

I haven't opened my copy yet (it's for my son's b-day on Nov 8) so I can't verify that the episode is in the set.

And, YES!! $18.49 at Costco.

Nobody will pricematch Costco, since it's a membership warehouse type of store.

I did try to get Wal-Mart to pricematch the Eckerd $34.99 Indiana Jones Trilogy, that didn't work either (since the closest Eckerd is 1hr drive).

Season Sets or 10-at-a-time???

Now that the complete first season package of SpongeBob SquarePants has now been released, can we assume that Paramount will someday announce a season two box set? And if the answer is "yes", then why is yet another collection of 10 random adventures being pandered to SpongeBob collectors on January 6, 2004?

Seascape Capers contains episodes:

"The Fry Cook Games"
"Bubblestand"
"Squid's Day Off"
"Spongebob Meets the Stranger"
"Pranks a Lot"
"Artist Unknown"
"Grandma's Kisses"
"Krusty Love"
"Krab Borg"
"The Smoking Peanut"

Question to Paramount: Are we suppose to collect all of SpongeBob's adventures through season sets or random collections?

HELP!!!
