I used to make the half hour drive at lunch to Best Buy to get the new releases on Tuesday, but the more I thought about it, I stopped.
I remember one Tuesday I rushed out when 5 or 6 titles were released, got to the store, they didn't have one and I thought "This is ridiculous. Why the rush? I won't be able to watch them until the weekend anyway" I could have ordered them all online and saved myself the drive and have them delivered to my house for less. So I left the store without buying any and haven't made a Tuesday trip since.
Now, I either order online, or if it is a major title and they have it at a local store closer to work for a good price, I stop there.

no, i don't come in late or take an extended lunch. coming in 15 minutes late equals 15 minutes which i don't get paid for. and no, i haven't taken any time off to watch DVDs.

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
I guess I should answer my own question.
I wouldn't "take off" if I had a job, but since I have my own web business I can take off whenever I want. I tend to do site maintenance, answer e-mail, message boards, etc. during the day, and then work all night.
It's nice to be able to decide to take a break and watch a movie at any time during the day.
