mathew, is that the lions gate dvd? also in regards to time, maybe they included credits in the run time. also for a horror movie, I would think the little joke at the begining doesn't really seem to fit in.

Yes, it's from the Lions Gate DVD. The total film runs for 93 minutes. It would make sense if it is a PAL->NTSC transfer, especially if the runtime is 98 minutes on the HK disc and explains the ghosting effects occuring on the Lions Gate DVD.

The gag is great, especially when my friend and I saw it in the theater. It's similar to the gag played in Gremlins 2 in which the Gremlins take over the projection booth, or how on the VHS version they take control over the VHS tape. To what Bilbo and karellen said, it sounds like the Pang Brothers did a similar trick, just instead of using the gag in the theatrical prints, doing it for DVD instead.

Matthew - that's what I took to be "combing." I usually see it in R2 discs until I use the "still" filter on my Malata 996.

I don't know what player you have, but do you have any filters to use? That might resolve the issue.

Sounds like the image does have some problems.
