Sports on DVD???

Will NFL Films ever release team highlight films in boxsets?I would buy a complete set of Viking highlight films.Complete Super Bowl games or a boxset of the highlights of each game?MLB could put out there World Series films in boxsets.I would like to see wrestling from the 70's and the 60's.The only question is-is there a demand for this stuff or are they(NFL Films,MLB,etc.) waiting for more input before releasing anything sports related.I feel that the market is there-just hasn't been tapped out-yet.

I'd imagine that the rights to those kinds of ventures would be difficult to secure.

I would love to have every Superbowl ever played on DVD. Even if it's just the major highlights of all the games. For instance, the DVD for Superbowl: Year One (or "I") could describe the way the whole NFL season shaped up for that particular year, into the playoffs and then culminating in the Big Game. It could easily be a three-hour disc. The NFL could release box sets divided into five year's worth. I don't know about Baseball, though. It seems to be losing appeal with today's generation. I think the MTV effects of shortening attention spans has made MLB a victim of sorts. But I do think that football on disc would be a big seller.

I wouldn't mind having every game Brett Favre ever played in on DVD, doubt that will ever happen

nfl films has those 2 hilite collections out.

but i would easily buy entire world series or many sports playoff games in it's entirety on dvd.

or just one game dvd's like maybe a copy of a game that clinched a pennant.
or the game a favorite player set an all time record.

but only entire games not the truncated versions like they show on espn classics sometimes.

Wow! Talk about coincidence! I had not heard about this collection until now. This is exactly what I had in mind regarding Superbowl collections. I will definitely pre-order this. Thank you very much for this info.

On the same day that the Super Bowl I-X comes out they have profile discs on the history of The Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers (from the looks of it, appears to be focusing on the Ice Bowl)

Just a little trivia... The first superbowl was actually the AFL-NFL World Championship Game but now-a-days everyone calls it Superbowl I. The trophy was called the World Championship Game Trophy. It wasn't renamed the Lombardi Tropy until the 1971 game. (Vince Lombardi died in 1970)

Another must have for all us Sports fans.

I have an NBA DVD that shows the early years of the NBA to the Bird/Magic erea. I got the disk off a Weaties box and I love watching it over and over again.

I currently own the following World Series DVDs: 1961, 1977, 1978, 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000. I just placed an order on Friday for the 2003 World Series DVD. (You'll see the pattern if you're a baseball fan. )

The quality of the DVDs isn't the greatest. Just a simple port from the VHS with no chapter stops or menus. It's rather annoying, but better than having them on VHS.
