Question about American History X
I have wanted to get this movie for a while now, but I haven't because the only thing I have seen it in is the dreaded snapper. New Line makes it and I have been waiting for New Line to make it into a keepcase like they did recently with most of thier previous titles and the most recent that I saw, The Mask. Has anyone seen it in a keepcase? If so, what store(s)?

If it bothers you that much, go buy it, get a blank Amaray case and carefully cut the snapper case so that it fits inside the Amaray.
But don't refuse to buy a DVD because of the packaging. That's just cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I can't believe that you would deny yourself a film that you love merely because you don't like the DVD packaging.

It's what shows up on the TV screen when you play the damn thing - that's what matters to me.

What I'd like to see is the director's cut of this film.

Edward Norton gives an impassioned performance as Derek Vinyard, a Southern Californian skinhead who must do time after committing a hateful murder. Once in jail, his mind opens and he sees the error of his ways. Upon reentering the real world, he must now turn his attentions to his younger brother Danny, who is swiftly heading down the same path as his brother. Controversy surrounded the film when director Tony Kaye disowned it, claiming that Norton had the film re-edited without Kaye's permission. Norton still got an Oscar Nomination for his intense performance.
