Simpsons' Christmas OUTRAGE!!!

Sorry if I'm doubling up on any posts. I did a search through other threads and didn't find any relevant topics. So, without further delay:

What on earth is wrong with the new Simpsons' Christmas DVD?!?! Why oh why would they GLARINGLY OMIT a Christmas episode on a CHRISTMAS COMPLIATION DVD??? The episode that has confusingly gone MIA is from the 7th season titled "Marge Be Not So Proud." This is simply inexcusable in my books considering it won't be released now for 4 more years until the 7th season is released on DVD. I think this is one of my top 5 favorite episodes of all time, hence my outrage!!!

Can someone make ANY sense of this omission and explain to me why it was left out?

Just look at the track record.

THE SIMPSONS, having started in 1990, is already on Season 14 this year.

We're only at Season 3.

With 11 more to go, and the average of one SIMPSONS box set per year, we should finally be caught up...

.................................................................................................... ............oh, around the year 2014. No joke. And that's assuming that this is THE SIMPSON's last year, which it isn't.

Just in time for the new format to arrive.

Actually, season 15 is about to start in a few weeks.

Releasing one season a year is ridiculous. So is releasing compilation discs with four episodes on them. I know, the Christmas disc has five episodes, but one of them is also on the season 1 set, so it doesn't count.

Hey, its $10 for 5 classic episodes of the Simpsons that you can pop in your DVD player during Christmas. No need whipping out 5 discs (well, since were only up to season 3...maybe 2?)

BTW, I agree with the original poster that "Marge Be Not Proud" should have been included on this disc. It would have made a much better choice than "Mr. Plow", which will be on next year's season 4 set and... well, it's been a while since I've seen that one, but how exactly is it a Christmas episode? Because it's snowing?

Kudos GizmoDVD, great point.

Also, if we keep whining about The Simpsons DVD releases, they might never come.

Enjoy what you got; over & over & over....

I don't particularly want the entire season sets. I am however, on the fence about the 'Treehouse of Horror' compilation. The only thing holding me back is the dissapointment in the lack of commentaries.

Mr Plow is the reason I'm buying this set. I really don't want to wait until next summer to see that episode.

I'll pick it up for the same reason I picked up the "treehouse" comp (and which I believe another poster listed above): I'll be able to pick it up for around $10 (or less) and it'll be a fun disc to throw in around the holidays. I'm sure I'll get my money's worth in viewings while waiting for the eventual boxed sets.

I was very excited when i first heard about the Simpsons seasons being released on DVD, but after the insanely long time they are taking i haven't and probably won't buy any seasons until a lot more are released.
The compilation discs are good but bad. I like the idea of having one disc to play durring the holidays but $10 for 4 episodes, out of the 14 they have to choose from. I'd gladly pay $25 for 10 eps.
Stupid greedy studios and Simpsons.

Y'know I just assumed this episode was on the disc, and when I saw it last week I was really surprised it wasn't. Except for the original Christmas episode and Mr. Plow, the other three episodes are quite new and have already been re-run more in the past year or two and the older episodes. I passed on this disc.

Lawrence Tierney did the guest voice of Don Brodka in that episode, so maybe they had some sort of contractual issue-something like not wanting to pay a guest star extra money on such a cheap disc.

However, I did buy the Treehouse of Horror disc-that has episodes from season 5, 6 and 7 which are some of the best IMO.

"Marge Be Not Proud" should be on this rather than "Simpsons Roasting on An Open Fire" which is already included in the first season set.

What is the plot of the Marge Be Not Proud ep everyone keeps talking about? Is that the one where Bart melts the Christmas Tree? (If not, what is that one called and is it on the compilation?)

What about the episode where Bart gets caught stealing a video game from a department store? Is that one on there? (If not, what's that one called?)

Thanks

"Marge Be Not Proud" is the name of the episode where Bart gets caught stealing the video game.
If FOX didn't want to include that episode on this disc, they should have at least included a playable demo of "Lee Trevino's Putting Challenge."
