Help: Any differences between Canadian Scarface Gift set and US?

Hi all,

can anyone out there please help me out. Is there any differences between the canadian R1 release of Scarface (gift set) and the US R1 release? I am concerned with bilingual covers/changes to the cover/s inserts etc.

Please help.

Thanx heaps,
r32

Well, I don't think there's a difference, and I ordered one a few days ago. I'll confirm after I get it.
As scarce as it is at the moment, and even though I think Universal will release another batch, I wanted to be sure and get one.
I used the 10-off-50 coupon in the Amazon coupon thread, which paid for the shipping to the U.S. After currency conversion, it's about $47.40 total, about the same as if I had been able to buy it at BestBuy, with tax.

Wow, that was unbelievably fast delivery, 2 days from the order date. I sure didn't think I'd be adding another comment to this thread today.

I ordered from Amazon.ca on Wednesday, got the shipping notice the next day, and the package arrived today, Friday, in California. Shipper was DHL express.

And, as suspected, there's no difference in the box sets, not even any Canadian rating logos. Just like the Band of Brothers box, which was identical to the U.S. version as I recall.

Also, I don't know if all the box sets have the widescreen version of the DePalma film, but I'm happy to say that this one does. I was a little worried about that.

Hmmm.. the ones I saw in FutureShop didn't appear to have a bilingual cover... although I didn't look at the back or anything...

The gift sets are identical in both countries. Universal - Alliance Atlantis imported the gift sets into Canada.

The set I just got from Amazon.Canada has only English text on the box.

The Scarface DVD inside has only English on the case, and it's the widescreen version, as I mentioned above. The older Scarface film also has only English on the case art.

Here's the UPC code number off the back. Maybe someone can check and see if that matches the U.S. set:
025192315824

The UPC for the Scarface DVD inside: 025192315725

Hope that helps settle it.

The DVD itself, not the gift set, that is available at all of the stores is bilingual. Although the front of it doesn't look too bad.

I just placed my order on www.amazon.ca, hope your info is correct. I preordered it at www.amazon.com, but it shows "Release date to be announced:The release date for this video has not been finalized.", don't know what's going on there.
