New Matrix Reloaded DVD planned for 2004
I just saw the CNN headline news entertainment report that a upcoming Reloaded DVD with deleted scenes is planned for 2004. I'm guessing it will be released along with the Revolutions DVD. You can see the segment again because they repeat it every so often.

I'm still just picking up the first version. It's anamorphic and 5.1 that's all I need. I rarely watch extras, really only for movies that I really love, and the Matrix movies don't fit that bill. I like them, but not enough to watch extras.
What are the delete scenes going to be anyway, extended Rave scene, more people wanting kissed?

This news makes me feel better about my decision to not buy the current release of The Matrix Reloaded. I'm still hoping for a boxet that will feature a remastered version of The Matrix so I can finally toss my disc.

I doubt there are going to be any great deleted scenes, but I would double dip for a Wachowski commentary, but since they are so reclusive (supposedly they have a clause with Warner saying they don't have to do any interviews, ever).

That's the one. Dunno if it had the brothers, can't remember. But it was dry.
I thought the clause with Warnes was that they didn't have to do any press interviews to help sell the film - you know, where the celeb is sat down in front of the movie poster and a line of journalists all get about five minutes.
Wachowskis on Leno... my, how weird that would have been. 'Cause they're weird. And weird people on Leno, are weird.

Wachowski's didn't do commentary on the first movie, although they were shown in the extras. Anyway, i'm still going to buy Reloaded next week. The early reviews say the disc looks and sounds awesome. When a box set comes out, i'll rebuy the whole set, but until then i'll be happy.

I'm in the same boat Fight Club. Since I'm not at home - I won't be able to see the CNN thing for awhile.
Interesting that this would be made public before the initial release of Matrix Reloaded on dvd though.

The W's were not on the Matrix commentary. I thought they did a pretty good job on their Bound commentary however, so I wouldn't consider them a boring bunch if they were to record one.

Hmmm. . .I think this version will still be fine. I'd re-buy the original for whatever goodies and better transfer they will give, but all I need is good audio and sound for Reloaded. I mean honestly, I'll watch deleted scenes once or twice.

I always expected to upgrade from the initial releases so not only does this come as no shock to me, but I also welcome it. I think I'll probably hold out for the inevitable mega trilogy boxset before dipping again though.

I'm holding out until the Matirx box set probably set to release by next summer. I am hoping for some commentary by the Wachowski brothers. I would like to see a DTS version but I don't think Warner Brothers will do one.

I remember having live "commentary" with the Wachowskis over the internet. Did anyone else participate in the 'live chat' with them and watched the film at the same time? It was cool. I had a few questions answered by them.
