clerks reissue?

A while back (Year or two), I thought I had heard they were working on a suped up version of Clerks with more goodies, etc.

I haven't heard anything since, does anybody know if this is still happening?

thanks.

The current version is a CE with commentary and some other goodies. However, I believe it is NOT anamorphic and I've also heard rumors of a new commentary for the forthcoming edition.

Wasn't there also talk of including an earlier version of the film that showed at some film festival? I thought I read that somewhere.

I doubt that.. cause that version ended with Dante getting shot and killed. Plus, they said there would be scenes added in that have NEVER been seen before. I'd imgaine it'll end up being like an extended "fan" edition of the movie. Smith is always content with the theatrical versions of his movies, but he knows how to cater to his fans, hence this upcoming edition.

Smith had the film restored a great deal - a lot of that grain wasn't intentional, just a bad transfer.

I'm unsure of how it'll look. Grain and bad picture add to the film's charm.

It'll also have a new commentary (with the old one, for comparison), a few new features, the Jay & Silent Bob MTV ads, "The Flying Car" and a couple other things.

As for when it comes out, who knows. Smith need three hands for what he's doing already.

Well.. Clerks was 10 years old a couple of weeks ago, as far as the first time it was shown at a film festival.. and next year will mark it 10 years old for it's distribution.

Man.. it is a little creeepy though.

Jaimeson you are incorrect..... it was during "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" that Kevin's wife Jennifer Schwalbach interviewed everyone involved in the production and created that documentary. It was original going to be on the J&SBSB dvd, but it became really long so now it'll be on the Clerks 10th Anniversary dvd instead.

Yeah you're right. But it only started as a Dogma docu, now it's morphed into a reportedly 2 hour Jay and Silent Bob/View Askewniverse docu.

Either way I can't wait

A movie filled with great one-liners. I've been holding out on it since I heard about the 10th anniversary release last year.

No, it doesn't have anything to do with "Dogma". Vincent Pereira wanted to go to LA to film a behind-the-scenes documentary for "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" but he couldn't make the trip. Jennifer Smith (Kevin's wife) and Malcolm Ingram filmed a bunch of behind-the-scenes footage but a documentary wasn't finished in time for the "JASBSB" DVD. It'll be completed, hopefully, for the "Clerks: 10th Anniversary" DVD. It won't be a "Behind The Music"-esque documentary on the Jersey Chronicles, it'll be a flat-out behind-the-scenes "JASBSB" doc, end of story.
