Quotes on Mr. Show DVD covers (?)
Are the quotes on the Mr. Show DVD covers supposed to be jokes? They seem like rather obvious observations.
Seasons 1 & 2 "The sum is even smarter and more twisted than it's parts"
Season 3 "Must be seen to be appreciated"

The second one is clearly a joke, but it's attributed to Newsweek, so perhaps it was the magazine's attempt at being cleaver and Mr. Show plucked it out for the DVD cover.

The firts quote makes more sense now when reading that article.
The second quote "Must be seen to be appreciated" is obvious isn't it? Of course you have to see it to appreciate it. I'm not able to appreciate the comedy of Mr. Show if I haven't seen it.
Thanks.

Are you saying that you've never heard the phrase "Must be seen to be appreciated?"

I have a feeling the quotes from "fans" about the Mr. Show book may be fake. Notice the date on the first one (the book was released last year):
Jeffrey Bergstrom (fan), 11/5/98
"A spectacular item. . .so comprehensive and so well organized. An amazing job executing an amazing book idea."
Charles Slade (fan) 10/30/02
"The best television show companion ever produced."
Daria (fan) 10/29/02
"The book is fantastic! You don't realize how much of a treat this is for Mr. Show fans everywhere."
