What about Michael Moore's commentary on "Roger & Me"? He was elected to the school board when he was 18.

And if Sonny Landham ever gets elected governor of Kentucky, what a 'party' that would be.

I was thinking about the Arnold/Ventura/Predator/government thing earlier.

Not exactly true, though, is it? I mean, Arnold wasn't an elected official when he recorded any of those commentaries, was he? That actually makes him "first ACTOR to record a commentary who later becomes an elected official." Doesn't sound as special, though, right?

Now, if he records a commentary after being elected, your statement will be true.

Okay . . . I told a friend of mine about this thread and here was his reply:

Clint Eastwood (former mayor of Carmel) hasn't recorded a commentary? Or Fred Thompson (for The Love Boat, if nothing else)?

I guess we can safely assume that Helen Gahagan, George Murphy, Sonny Bono, and Ronald Reagan never recorded commentary for a DVD. And that's a top-of-my-head list of other elected officials.

Why would Fred Thompson record a commentary for The Love Boat?

Wrong Fred. Fred Grandy, aka Gopher. No commentary yet, since no Love Boat DVD.

Elected to four terms as Representative to the state of Iowa (1987 - 1995)

even more surprisingly:
Best man at David and Julie Nixon Eisenhower's wedding in 1968

Gilberto Gil did a commentary track in Portuguese on a DVD of one of his musical performances: "Acustico MTV" (which I guess means "Unplugged"). He was a councilman in his home town of Salvador.

No, I did not know that before this thread was started.
