Fargo SE - Helllp!

"ooh....I think I'm gonna barf"

OK, why am I having so much trouble opening up my new copy of Fargo???

It has (or appears to have) a plastic slipcase over the actual dvd case. But I can't budge the case from it's plastic prison. Now I could open/rip the plastic slipcase, as it has a seam. But that I can't bring myself to do.

Has anyone else had trouble getting into their Fargo?

I finally managed to get the thing open. I think it was intentionally done that way, just to frustrate me!

Actually, I just had to force it pretty hard to get it to come out of the slipcase. It seems like the shrinkwrap had sealed a bit to some of the slipcase and wouldn't budge.

Looking forward to watching this tonight...

Mine came right off, I just opened it like 5 secs before I read this thread. It came off straight up easily, I was suprised to see the Amray case wash shrink wrapped a 2nd time;. I guess this is done cause eventually they will release it just without the plastic slip cover, which I think it cool

Pete, I had to push VERY hard on my case as well to get it out of the outer casing. After putting it back in though it came out with ease. Perhaps it was stuck to something inside.

Tell me about it! I really had to push, push, push. Over the years, I have broken a lot of things by forcing them. Makes me a bit gun-shy exerting to much pressure.

Same problem here.

What a pain... plastic over the slipcase, troubles budging the slipcase off, then more plastic over the DVD case, and then I had to contend with the 3 security stickers.

For a lesser of a film, I would've given up.

Maybe they just wanted you to REALLY appreciate it when you finally got to watch it.

I had the same trouble with my plastic wrapping, but I finally managed to get it open.

One other thing bugs me, though...anyone else notice the "map of Fargo" on the flip side of the cover artwork (the keep-case cover art, not the slipcase)? It looks pretty cool, but why'd MGM use a black case instead of a clear one? I swapped an old clear case of mine for the Fargo disc, and it looks much cooler. I don't know, it just looks all neat and icy now. And the DVD is pretty cool, too.

A clear keep would have been nice...but I really like that Map cover, so I just flipped it...so now I have the map of Fargo as the keep case cover, under the slip sleeve (which was very hard to get off...maybe the plastic wrap and this are creating some kind of super sticking static or something...really had to giv'er to get it off)....

Such a great movie... the disc ain't bad, but I think I had hoped for a bit more...but the Minnesota Nice doc was pretty sweet.

Slid out nice and easy for me and no floater. I'm a happy boy.

After sliding it in and out a few times it should loosen up.
Tight fitting slipcases are one of the reasons I usually throw them away.

I beg to differ. It is always better to have a tight fit .....ing slip case but not too tight that it rubs in the wrong spots. You betcha.

I had no idea that there was anything on the flip side of the cover artwork. Thanks for the info, bigbro.

What is with this new trend with slipcovers. i know they have been around for awhile, but it just seems that ever SE that comes out has a slip cover.
