Kurosawa's 4 More Samurai Classics?

Does anyone think Criterion would release another box set with four more Kurosawa samurai classics?

With High and Low ,Throne of Blood, Red Beard and Rashomon maybe they could even throw in The Lower Depths to make it five.

Im just wondering this because of the DVD empire sale going on and i dont want two of the same DVD. I guess i could always sell it if there ever is another set.

Yeah, High and Low is one of my favorite samurai movies.

Spoiler:
That scene where the executives are having a meeting in the board room KICKS ASS!

Hard to tell. It could happen but I wouldn't think it would anytime soon. I haven't poked around ezboard to see if something like this could be in the works.

I'm always of the school of If You Want It, Get It Now. If they do release a boxset in the future, you might already have 'em all by then. Otherwise, like you mentioned, you can always sell 'em. Criterions seem to hold their value.

Yeah, usally Criterions dont go down in price. so if its $30 now it will be in a couple of years. I could just re-sell it at the price I paid for it and it would still be a good deal for both parties.

And Red Beard's right behind. Possibly the most underrated Samurai movie about doctors ever. The Lower Depths has lots of Samurai action as well.

I love that scene in High and Low where the samurai have to throw the ransom money off the train, and then when the group of samurai have to enter that nightclub with the flashing lights and rock-n-roll music, and when the samurai's limousine driver's son gets kidnapped.

Those samurai sure know how to use a telephone much faster than ninja with a cuisinart!

There have been rumors about criterion updating seven samurai and reissuing it. Also because Yojimbo and Sanjuro don't have anamorphic transfers there is a possibility of reduing these releases. Of course criterion would never say anything until they are ready to officially anounce. They may be trying to get rid of the remaining stock with the boxset. Of course this is just speculation.

You mean like, they're gonna make it a western, or something?
