The second printing corrected a problem with the first printing, what that exactly was escapes me but hopefully someone else knows.

Two supplements—an introduction by Terry Jones, and Tati’s 1967 short Cours du Soir—were inadvertently flagged to play back in 16x9 mode, causing the image to appear vertically compressed and letterboxed rather than full-frame. This problem has been corrected on all subsequent printings of this DVD.

Which is fine but be aware that supposedly the film has/is being remastered. A new DVD is at this point only a rumor. But after a remaster - perhaps a reasonable one.

As the CC version is quite expensive to obtain, some patience for (perhaps) even a better image might be a good idea.

Playtime has just been released in France in a restored special edition, so a US re-release is presumably going to happen at some point.

Someone offered me the 1st edition for $65....but if there is a glitch then I will pass...Just to clarify.
