DVD Talk Special Edition
Digging for info on this, I found that there was to be a VHS and DVD release in 2002, I believe through Columbia House. Obviously, that didn't happen. I wonder if the plummeting VHS market, which might account for this project being cancelled, took the DVD plans along with it. Or maybe Columbia House didn't get a good enough response for the series and the plan was scrapped.
From the comments I remember, they weren't going to add any extras for the DVD; it was going to be a DVD version of the VHS. So no VHS, therefore no DVD.
I'd jump on season sets of this series, but would be a little annoyed with a CH set of two episodes per release.

Great show! The show premiered in 1993 and ran on Fridays at 7:00pm Central time right before The X-Files which also premiered that year. Brisco was, I think, just as good as X but it lasted only one season.
The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.
I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

You didn't dig quite deep enough.. Columbia House DID release the VHS and it is STILL available (points to line of tapes on the shelf). No words on what happened to the DVD release (brother are they missing a market there)... same as Kolchak: The Night Stalker... on VHS, no DVD.

Now, how do we start bothering CH about getting those on DVD?

Well.. since Columbia House has "Land of the Giants" and "Alien Nation" available on DVD (pricey.. but available). I would figur it would be a no brainer for them do to Bricso and Kolchak before now...
but nnnooooooooooooo......

I taped most of them during the original run and caught the missing ones when it was running on TNT. Just about the only non-sports VHS still around my house. I'd love to replace them with DVD versions though.
