What are decent prices for the Tati Criterions?

I sold my copies on ebay last month to help pay for a DVD Recorder. They were opened and not sealed.
M Hulot's Holiday $182.50
Mon Oncle $122.51
Playtime $72.99
So if what I got is any kind of average, figure around $400 for the set.

Wow! I wish I could get my hands on these. I have just read Jonathan Rosenbaum's essay on Tati and I'm intrigued. Too bad they're so much $$.

The restored and remastered Tati films are already starting to be released in Europe:
Spanish Tati DVDs
French Edition of Playtime
In the UK, the bfi has plans to release Mr. Hulot's Holiday and Playtime in the near future.
All of this means that these new versions will also be coming to the US (via Criterion or another company), and those OOP Tati prices will drop like a rock.
So, I'd strike while the iron's still hot . . .

I'm happy to eat my words if I'm proved wrong, but for anyone holding onto these as an investment only, my advice is "sell".

Timing is everything.
I picked up Playtime 2 weeks before the Tat's went OOP for a whopping $34 CDN. I jumped on the deal since the price was so low for a Criterion in Canada (and of course I wanted the film).
Little did I know it's value would quadruple only 2 weeks later.

If you are merely trying to have a "complete" collection of all the Criterion titles as a collector, and you care less about the film quality, $65 is probably reasonable for right now.
As with any TV ad for a financial investment, there is no guarantee that the price won't either go up or go down a week after you've made your purchase.
Personally, I think as soon as the new editions come onto the market, those who love the films will double-dip & sell off their Criterions, and the price will come down (by the law of supply and demand). But, AFAIK, new Region 1 Tati's haven't been announced or rumored by any studio or distributor, so it may be 6-9 months before this all comes to pass.
My 2 cents (though I suppose I'm actually up to 6 or 8 cents by now).

Any advice is appreciated. I admit that I am a Criterion collector, but last year I read Jonathan Rosenbaum's Reverse Angle and I've been even more interested in checking these out. I'm not gung-ho enough about Criterions to spend $500+ for Salo, but I would like to get these. Thanks again!
