Does it have a history of being censored, or are you just worried that Schwarzenegger will somehow get certain footage removed? If it's the latter, I doubt the film will be censored on DVD.

I've read a few articles that particular scenes, like Arnold smoking, will not be cut. If they're not cutting that out, i can't imagine what they would.

I"m just not sure if this is the original version, however. I guess it aired on Cinemax last year and it wasn't the same cut.

From the reports I have heard, this new restored edition or cut which aired on Cinemax did show Arnold smoking, however, it is not the same cut that has been on VHS for many years.

I dont think anything was edited, I think they added the additional footage that exists that was not in the original cut. This is a longer version of the film, presumably with more Arnie goodness. I'd like it if it contained both cuts, or a seemless branching option, but if not I'll just hold on to my VHS for posterity (and for insurance, just in case they do pull a fast one and take out something).

The VHS has the smoking scene in it. I've heard that two other scenes that might be censored are the scene where Arnold compares the feeling of being pumped to cumming. He says something to the effect that he's cumming all the time. Also, there is a scene where Arnold says, in order to show dedication to his traing, that he did not go home to his father's funeral because he was in training for a bodybuilding contest. Both of these scenes might be harmful to someone seeking public office. Of course all of this is fictional and was put in the movie for effect.

I hope these won't be censored from the DVD

Okay let me see if I can clear it up the best I can...

I owned the original VHS (Original Cut). At some point in time Arnold bought ALL the rights to this film and burried it, for unknown and widely speculated reasons.

Last year (supervised by Arnold) a Restored Anniversary Cut was aired on Cinemax. Nothing was cut from the original, they added more footage to it.

And now they are releasing the DVD which will be the Cinemax version with apparently more footage as an Extra. I'm not sure if they'll have the Original Cut as an option or not, but on the other hand we won't be loosing any footage either.

Hope this helps.

This WAS NOT fiction. As a professional athlete, there are certain things you do while in preperation for a contest, such as not flying to Austria to go to your dad's funeral.

As far as the editing:
There should be no editing because the movie has no damaging or bad content. Arnold said it himself, "I did not live my life to be a politician," so if people are goiung to keep him out of office for performing a vooch lock, grabbing a woman's breasts or smoking pot, it'll be their loss!

I just got finished watching the DVD. As for the 3 big worries about censorship: the smoking pot scene and the following:
I've heard that two other scenes that might be censored are the scene where Arnold compares the feeling of being pumped to cumming. He says something to the effect that he's cumming all the time. Also, there is a scene where Arnold says, in order to show dedication to his traing, that he did not go home to his father's funeral because he was in training for a bodybuilding contest.
All 3 (the smoking, cumming, and funeral) scenes ARE on the DVD which is definitely the same cut seen on Cinemax last year (which I never saw). During the credits, it even has an Arnold voice-over with an on-screen graphic telling you to "stay tuned next for Raw Iron" (paraphrased) - a making-of which must have been seen right after the film on Cinemax. That is an extra on the DVD. That's the only negative thing I have to say about the DVD's presentation - the unnecessary graphic/voice-over for Raw Iron. Other than that, the DVD is great - especially since those "big 3" scenes are in there.

Haven't had a chance to watch the extras yet - will probably do that this weekend.
