European Vacation

Are they not planning on releasing a SE of European Vacation?? My wife keeps bugging me to buy it for her, but I don't want to get it if a SE is on the horizon. I looked in the Rerelease thread but didn't see anything, and want to confirm either way. Thanks a lot.

Buy the current one.

The other 3 needed to be rereleased because they were full-frame.

Euro Vac is already anamorphic widescreen, so it's not being rereleased.

I guess when I get the box set, Im gonna end up with a duplicate.... oh well

probably easier to get the entire box set, and have a duplicate than to chase down 3 dvds seperately

Thanks guys. A SE would still be nice for the commentary, but what can you do. My wife thanks you as well!

I bought the current edition and am happy with it. I'm just looking forward to the Christmas Vacation SE that's coming after my disappointment with the new Vacation SE.

The current version does include a commentary, by Chevy Chase and Bevery D'Angelo.

Actually it's just Chevy Chase, but you're right, it is on there.

And EUROPEAN VACATION was JUST released last year.

I highly doubt you'll get a SE anytime soon.

And plus, Warner's would only do a Special Edition of the 1st and 3rd Vacations anyway, since they were the most successful.

Just buy it already!

Hmm...Amazon lists it as both. I sold mine in preparation for the forthcoming box set, and never listened to the commentary.

The European Vacation that is out now is an SE, it was released earlier this year. The first of the Vacation series to be released in oar and with extras.

I was going to get the original Vacation but decided to wait for the box. Why the disappointment with it?

I just got the Vacation Collection and finished watching European and had a question. Is this version dubbed at all? There were a number of times that it looked like Chevy Chase cussed but then it said a really tame word instead. Like in the car chase when he yells "Darn it all!"

Also when D'Angelo yells at him in the street she doesn't actually cuss, but then later says that she "even used the 'f-word.'"

Did I just mishear or was it actually dubbed over? It felt like the TV version (except for the nudity.)

Thanks.
