Terminator 3 DVD to be the first of many.
Terminator 3: Jonathan Mostow confirmed to Empire Online the upcoming release is the first of several T3 discs planned, those who only want one would probably best wait for the 'Ultimate Edition' version which'll likely be a good year or more away..

For reasons I can't explain I'm totally not surprised. I figured as much which is why I haven't preordered T3. I'm a patient soul, I'll wait till they get it right.

is it supposed to be 2 disc or 2 disc edtion?
warner don't usually double-dip their movies too much...
well, they do, but usually with allot of improvement in picture & sound quality + allot more extras (1 disc to 2 disc edition)

I doubt any future re-release will feature a better transfer. This is, afterall, a brand new film with a new print (unlike how Artisan handled T2). I'm sure future releases will just contain different/more extras and maybe a sneak peak for the inevitable T4.

The current edition has a nice roster of extras announced, so I'll stick with that one since I pre-ordered it for cheap. I doubt much if anything will make me upgrade.

this first release looks good enough for me as a non-die hard fan of the film (enjoyed it a great deal but don't really need to own a super-deluxe ultimate edition of it).. good that he (albeit unofficially) announced there would be more editions of it though.

I'm a big fan of the Terminator movies so I will pick up the first edition since I want to see it so badly again. As the other editions, I will have to wait and see how much new content is on it and if they really improved the video/sound quality which I doubt since T3 is a new movie.

Are you kidding? If Arnold becomes governor of California, then agrees to sit down a do a commentary, don't tell me that won't qualify for a triple dip to the many fans out there, right?

They're milking the Terminator franchise?

But, just in case, can we archive this thread to use as referrence when the next version is announced? Cuz SOMEONE is sure to accuse WB of underhanded marketing..

Great news to me...I loved T3 in the theater (although it DID seem to suffer from too many edits) and cannot pass up owning the DVD (a Warner keepcase, with TWO commentaries I actually want to listen to...which is rare for a non-Gilliam/Cameron film) Yes, the current release sounds good, but if they are holding out the deleted scenes to put together a director's cut I would buy it on day one.(yes, I know Mostow said this was his cut, but people who saw early audience screeners said this is NOT the case)
