some movies are shot in panavision (this, pulp fiction true romance ect) and what you see on the screen in theaters, is exactly what you will see on the pan and scan version. But of course, they have to pan and scan the hell out of it to try to keep everything in focus, which will become annoying. Then there are movies that are super 35 (terminator 3, matrix reloaded, swat) where when we see the version on tv, you actually see more of the picture below the frame. however, doing this can show things that we are not supposed to see.

There could still be dts... after all, Dead & Buried managed to put SEVEN audio tracks on disc one, while still keeping the video bitrate up (the video wasn't great looking to begin with, I understand).

They might yet edit together the comm with Jerry, Jack & Keira with the Johnny & Gore comm. The group comms were edited together on Armageddon and The Rock.

And remember folks.. just because it's not dts in region one...

I assume you're talking about the Criterion discs. Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas is also like that on the commentary with Johnny Depp, Benicio Del Toro and the producer. So, it seems more like a Criterion thing than a Disney thing.

On topic, I seriously can't wait to get this. And not just cuz it's part of a collection.

I'll pick this up without a doubt, one of the best movies ive seen this year and probably the best. Id really like to have a DTS track as well so hopefully they can get it on there.

Since this is a Buena Vista title, you know what that means don't you? LOTS of edge enhancement.

This movie is so freakin' cool...I watched teh trailer on my Best Buy preview disc tonight. Dec. 2 is gonna be a day I break down and buy the disc at a B&M and not CH it. I can't see this film again soon enough.

It doesn't go into DVDFile-like detail and is for the R2 release anyway, but it might interest some of you. This will be one of the few 2003 movies I'm getting on DVD this year.
