Cabaret re-release NOT anamorphic

Warner$ has duped us again! The 2003 re-release of Cabaret is NOT anamorphic despite what the packaging reads. The expectation was that it would be anamorphic, but all they've done is cleaned up the transfer from the original 1998 DVD release and printed "Enhanced for Widescreen TVs" on the packaging.

I don't think that printing "Enhanced for Widescreen TVs" makes it so! Thanks, Warner$!

Man, this sucks. I was wondering how different the dvd was from teh 1998 dvd. I guess I'll just stick with the 1998 one then.

I got to thinking about this new release again...does anyone know to what extent they did at cleaning it up? I was hoping DVDBeaver would have a comparison on it...but it doesn't.

I thought I heard it was exactly the same, just new packaging.

Strange Warner did this. Very lazy when you consder this is an eight Oscar winning film!

Even stranger that it seems to not be available in the anamorphic format anywhere.
