I'd been using DVD Profiler for about two years before registering a few months back.
It used to be slow and wasn't updated very often. But since they fixed the part of the program where you add a disc and made it fast enough to be useful, I decided that it was finally *worth* paying for.
The cover scans aren't such a big deal since I can always turn about and take a disc off of my shelf to look at the title. But I like having the extra screen real estate that's no longer being taken up by an advert, and I like supporting work that I find valuable.
Still, at the time I had a hard time deciding to pay for something I was already getting for free, or buying a new DVD.
Those are just decisions NO ONE should have to make.

The limit on DVD Profiler is size of upload, not numbers. Locked profiles take up more space, so the number of titles can vary before one reaches the limit. People seem to have reached 700 + titles before reaching the limit.

I put movie quotes, reviews from amazon, trivia, and my own thoughts in my notes section. I guess that may be the reason for not being able to upload my profile to my page. The page doesn't even display our "notes" though, so why would they effect uploading our profile to the site?

I have some very simple advice for you. Pay the $25 registration fee, there is a limit on the file size you can upload as a free user, once you are premium there is no limit. And try participating in the DVDProfiler website since it is for DVDPro users and DVDTalk is kind of a generic forum

I have 1240+ titles using the free version with no problems. I just have to make sure I always refresh profiles and images to accept more of the differences. I have nothing locked, so that helps.

If you've done this already but the ads still display, click on Tools -> Options and click on the display tab on the popup window. Unselect the show advertisements check box.
If you haven't received the code yet, I would try emailing them at [email protected].

Like the others have said, it should be immediate. You may want to check your eMail Spam folder or filter for the e-mail containing your new Key. Once you get the new key, it askes you a few questions, and you are all set. Be sure to re-load all the images (which may take a few times and minutes), so you will have the best scans.
Also, they do have a forum on thier site as well for technical questions. Your question comes up quite a bit, so you should have no problem finding a similar thread there that might get you quicker service. e-mailing them works as well, but isn't necessarily as informative as the forum.
Good luck!

It took about 18 hours for me to receive my e-mail from them.
However, you can request it to be sent again from their web site:
Click on the "My Profiler" link from the main menu of http://dvdprofiler.com
Enter your e-mail address (that you used to register) in the top box. They'll re-mail your key to you.
Much faster than waiting for them to reply.
