To Live And Die In L.A. 12/2/03?
I Just pre-ordered this from Dvdsoon.Com. you must look under "Pre-order" and there it is on the second to last page There are alot of pages to go through but it is there. Unfortunately I did not find it on their search engine. They say it will be released on 12/2/03 I dont know for sure but I thought I would take the chance of ordering it. I Hope it actually gets released. No other info is listed. I remember ordering Altman's "Short Cuts" from them a while back it was never released so we can only hope.

I wouldn’t necessarily trust DVDSoon to get it right. They had Michael Mann’s The Keep up for pre-order a few months back and it’s not been announced or scheduled yet.

It's in my top 5 unreleased list. Between this, the Don Knotts movies, and Once Upon a Time in the West, I can die a happy man!

Please release it!!!
I really, really hope that the dvd for this movie gets released as stated. I have read an interview with the director William Friedkin in an Australian article last year that the dvd is all done and is ready for release.
What a coincidence that this news came about since I just picked up a rare copy of Friedkin's Sorcerer, the movie that basically caused his "downfall."

I got a dvd copy of the "Sorcerer" fm my local video retail store who ordered it fm their supplier.
A lot of people who do have it are quite unhappy due to the film being in fullscreen, 2-channel audio and not-so-good transfer. But nevertheless, this is the only version that is available and, fm what I have heard, is the version that was approved by the director. The cover looks more like some B-movie title.
I know Amazon still has it on stock.

A friend of mine who works in a Mom & Pop store showed me the ad for "To Live and Die in L.A." in a trade magazine today. It listed the street date as 12/02/03 and included the cover art. I'm sorry I don't know what the name of the magazine was, but this date looks legit!

Awsome cover!
I will definitly be picking up this release! Have only seen bits of it heavily edited on tv. So i can't wait to see the real movie. The car chase kicks ass though & is amazing!!
Now i have'nt seen Sorcerer yet. Heard the title, always thought it was a fantasy type film or even horror from how the title is written fontwise on the box, lol. Is it any good?
I may rent it sometime for the heck of it. ps..Friedkin does not approve of P&S! Thats a urban legend. I read in an interview around The Exorist rerelease & this was brought up. He said he prefers OAR/widescreen to P&S/open-matte,but somehow the rumor got around that he was against letterboxing on home video like Kubrick.
Now i wonder what will happen with Cruising since it's in Warners possesion at the moment? I really wish MGM had this one. They would not hesitate with an uncut release, meanwhile Warner most likely will. Which brings up the question. Why hasn't Warner & other studios with that pathetic policy released NC-17 uncut films in dual-rated releases via seamless branching or two disc sets? Not only would they sneak by their dumb policy by techinically labeling the uncut version a 'special feature' which is unrated. They could still get the film into the crappy conservative chains. Also people would be able to see the real version of the film, along with the cut version for comparison. Yet as usual, they are clueless to the potentials.

Just be glad MGM didn't photoshop a head-cover.

Wow, this is great news.
And although Wages of Fear is better than Sorcerer, I actually do like the Friedkin remake. I'm surprised it doesn't get more respect - great film.
And yeah, I also like the cover for To Live and Die in LA.

This will be the best christmas gift I've ever received. I wonder if the people at this website are happy about the news.

I can't wait! I so LOVE this movie!!!!!!!
And Julie, "Sorcerer" is a really good film! I saw it theatrically, and am still hoping for a widescreen issue, though I have this strong need to see it again even in P&S!
