FYI: There has been a release of 'Freddy's Nightmares' on DVD. I don't remember the publisher - but the disc contains a few extra's (a look at Freddy merchandise, etc) and contains the first three episodes, each one runs about fourty-five mintues long. The catch? It's a Region 2 - Pal release. Still, if you are region free (and you should be) you can get the disc at Xploitedcinema.com (At least that's where I got mine).
By the way - do you remember the series? From a collector's standpoint, it's great to have it, but for actual viewing it's downright terrible. I'm more interested in see'ing the 'Friday the 13th' TV series being released on DVD, but I doubt that happens, see'ing as it really had nothing to do with the movie series.

I second that request for the "Friday the 13th" series. Although I haven't seen it in years, it was great for it's time and I was there every week when it first aired. Plus, David Cronenberg directed one of the early episodes making it a must purchase just for that alone. I think it only lasted three seasons - and in many foreign territories it was called "Friday's Curse" to avoid confusion that it had anything to do with Jason.
I also agree that "Freddy's Nightmares" was pretty wretched. Still, I watched (or 'suffered through') every episode on it's original 2-year run. But as a time capsule of that period and, as you said, for a "collector's" standpoint, it would be nice to have. Not sure if New Line owns the series, though. I do know Warners released several of the episodes years ago on VHS (prior to the AOL-New Line connnection). If they do own it and decide to release it some day, they should make one giant box containing both seasons, because if they release them separately, buyers will see how godawful the show is after buying the first one and skip season 2.

Hope they do get released on DVD sometime in the near future.
