Charlie's Angels 2: UNRATED??
In case you haven't heard, the widescreen version of Charlie's Angels 2: Full Throttle is being pimped as an unrated edition whie the full screen version is the original PG-13 cut. Any idea what this unrated content is?
I doubt there is going to be much more T and/or A from such huge stars, so what else could there be in there that had to be cut? You telling me there was actually really hardcore violence in the original cut of the film?!

It's probably only considered unrated because that's exactly what it is. They throw in some scenes that weren't in when it was rated and now it is unrated. Doesn't mean any more Violence or the addition of some T & A.

I'll give it a look, but I don't expect anything more than more action and violence. Cyberock is right--if you add anything to the rated version, be it sex or just a scene of character exposition then it becomes unrated unless the director resubmits it to the MPAA.

Unfortunately, there will be a double dip to make it a Superbit down the line I'm sure.

I remember the story a bit back. There is a little bit of extra fighting that might have been a little too much for the soft PG-13 rating they were going for. They decided that they can cut a few things, put them on the DVD with the "unrated" label which normally goes hand in hand with more nudity and extreme stuff and then make a killing off the horny boys.

Superbit Deluxe already announced with the other releases. No need to double dip with the fair warning ahead of time.

"This was the much-hyped "Unrated" release, but it's just a few extra seconds of footage of the fight where Barrymore gets pounded by an ex-boyfriend and spits blood. That's it."
I really think the mpaa should really get a grip with their ratings. I mean there's been blood in pg13 movies right

You realize that if a scene is added to a dvd or any thing is changed from the one they turned into the MPAA the first time to receive the rating, the studio would need to resubmit it in order to get a new rating for it? I'm sure the studio wanted to shoot for the "Unrated" tag line so they can get a gimmick on the dvd for it. the theater release was less the spectacular. So anything to sell this dvd would be good for them. if this includes adding another few seconds in and not choosing to submit it for another mpaa rating, then so be it. I'm sure if it was submitted in, it would have gotten a pg-13 rating.
Choice is the matter here. they choose not to submit it in order to banner the "Unrated" tag and sell it on that standpoint.

From www.dvdfile.com :
"The highly-touted Unrated version of the film included here is a bust. Those expecting much in the way of anything will be disappointed. The extra footage amounts to just a few extra thrown punches and a tad bit more gory aftermath. There are no scenes added nor any gratuitous T&A. Yawn. "

It's Columbia, StevenSpielberg ... So what you should be saying is TYPICAL, just TYPICAL.
I mean come on people! We all know that if a Columbia movie is remotely successful/anticipated title they're going to put out a Superbit version of it sooner or later. (Though I will admit even *I* was suprised by Lawrence of Arabia!)
As for the "Unrated" label... that is old news too. I believe Sweetest Thing and the American Pie movies fall into the same category in terms of how much and what was re-edited into the original film. "Unrated" is to movies today what XXX is to porn films. One X or three, it is still the same porn.

The ideas are coming to me..."my mind is aglow with whirling, transient nodes of thought careening thru a cosmic vapor of invention!" Keep your eyes open...I might have to start another thread (if I can't find an appropriate place to put it).
