Day Of The Dead -- Differences with Old Release?

Hey all...

I would search for this answer, but you try searching for Day Of The Dead without violating the 3 letter minimum in the search...haha...

Anyway, i own the original release of Day Of The Dead on DVD, and i remember there being a documentary on it -- is this same documentary included in the new release? Is there any advantage AT ALL for me to keep the orginal?

Thanks,

Matt

The new release has a bunch of more features available. Unfortunly, I don't own this yet, but alot of people on this board do already. All I really know is when they were transfering this over, some of the dubbed parts got included.

Well worth it. I got my copy this past Tuesday and I'm more than happy with it. The extra features, espically the documentry on filming 'Day of the Dead' are all worth the price of admission.

Check your local Best Buy - as it seems most of them have put it out early.

Hey all...

I know the new one is a lot better -- BUT, is the documentary that appeared on the first release included on the new release? if not, i will keep the old one as well..

Thanks,

Matt

I don't think people are reading your question correctly (or maybe I'm not).

You're asking if there is any advantage to the OLD version over the NEW, correct?

In answer to that -- the featurette on the old disc is not carried over onto the new. The additional features on the new one more than make up for that... but if you are a die-hard completist, you'll want both discs. 99% of fans will be satisifed with just the new one.

bboisvert,

You got it -- you answered my question correctly...haha. That's a bummer that it doesn't appear on the new one.. Oh well, if the footage is repeated i may trade it off, if not, i may keep it.... It just scares me knowing that fact that this original DVD was going for around $100 on eBay for the past few years...

Thanks,

Matt

Also, what exactly is the dubbing problem, and how did it occur?

apparently a few bad words accidenlty got dubbed from the japanese tv version into the american uncut version, but unless you know the movie by heart, you won't notice a thing

Hello,

I know the movie by heart -- and the dubb wont bother me -- but i am just interested in finding out exactly how this dub happened. SO, they compiled this release from a japenese tv version by putting english over it -- and some holes were left? Thats the only way i could imagine this happening....weird...

Thanks,

Matt

Hey....

The search button IS my friend -- however, we had a falling out last night. It's mad at me. I am fine with IT, but it's immature and won't listen to reason....

Thanks for bringing the pain back,

Matt!

Fortunately now that the new disc is coming out the old one can be had for much less now! I had been watching the prices as well, and finally picked up a copy last week- for ten bucks!

Hopefully the same will happen with Dawn of the Dead when it's released next February.
