I need a little help... Please! :)

I just starting printing custom covers out for myself & i am having a slight problem. The covers print in excellent quality but it seems they are not long enough to take up all the space in the keep case like the original covers are.

Here is what i do let me know if there is something i'm not doing right or need to do.

#1) I run Paint Shop Pro 8
#2) I open my cover downloaded from dvdcoverart.com in PSP8
#3) I check my settings on printer to set to landscape and make sure highest quality is set.
#4) I tape a couple inch piece of paper onto the sheet i will be printing on.
#5) I hit Print

the whole cover prints fine fits on the page using the strip of paper taped on. It's just like i mentioned earlier doesn't seem to take up the full space of the keep case like the original art does. Any suggestions ? Thanks!

Sounds like it is printing to "scale to fit media." Make sure that box is not checked, because it shrinks the image to fit on the page.

I run photoshop but I'm sure most are pretty similar, here is what I do, no taping involved.

Page setup
Landscape setting
set paper size to US Legal (8.5" x 14")
uncheck the center image box
Set left margin to 0"

Lastly just make sure there is a second sheet of paper on the printer. It never seems to feed it on my machine, but if it isn't there the printer says it needs paper to finish the job. Very odd.

Bamm! Perfect size print. I have just started printing my own this past week and have done 10 so far. All look excellent.

Printers are not all equal. Some newer printers can print without a margin (These printers will print a single case cover on standard letter size paper). On the other hand older printers will not print without a margin (Hence the need for legal size paper or taped on additions). For example I use Canon bjc-6000 printers (I have 2). I set the margin to zero but the printer is not able to actually print with a zero margin so it defaults to it's lowest setting (about 1/8 inch). just a bit to short for full print out on a letter size page. If I use letter size paper the printer automatically compresses the image (with a 1/8th margin on both ends) and it ends up like you describe (to short to fill the case).

Since you didn't mention it in your 'steps list' you must also tell the printer your using legal size paper and set the left side margin (in landscape mode) to a suitable amount. With actual legal size paper margin settings are't required but a small margin is required with taped on additional paper to prevent printing onto the added inches of paper.
