Beware of the security sticker on House of a 1000 Corpses...

the sticker could tear off the entire top part of the artwork on the case since it is just a cardboard flap with the artwork on it.

This is on DVD?!? Crap, I was still waiting for the theatre release. I really need to get back in the loop...

That sucks about the sticker. I wish they'd only put them on the side of the case.

it wouldn't matter where they put the sticker with this case. it could still damage the artwork.

I went to Best Buy and Target today during lunch. Best Buy is selling a cardboard case version, but the ones at Target are in a clear plastic keep case.

Any idea how much it was going for at Target?

I was just getting ready to post on this. I was super careful, and still screwed the case up. Not only do you have to beware of the sticker on the outside. You have that stupid magnetic strip on the inside.

I wish whomever the S.O.B. is that thought up glue on a paper product should be taken out and hung up by his gonads. I am a collector and this ruins a big part of it for me. This goes for the magnetic strip on paper also.

If you can't tell I am annoyed, and now going to write Lions gate hate e-mail.

Tape / Glue on paper / cardboard is a bad idea.
Common sense.

what idiots. it's common sense. I tried to do it with care...like always...but it still peeled off some of the artwork. btw, is there supposed to be a booklet or something? I have an inner sleeve but nothing in it. strange.

GUTWRENCHER: mine didn't have anything in it either, just the pocket. And it was 19.99 at Target (in the case). But I got mine at BestBuy for 17.99 (cardboard).

thanks. I could care less about worthless inserts with chapter stops....but if they included a pocket sleeve...something should go in the sleeve. these are usually made for collector booklets and artwork cards. anyway...no big deal.

Looks like I'll pay a couple extra $$ and pass up the paper @ BB. Since I'm going next door to 'em I was thinking of checking at Wally World and see which packaging they have.

Picked mine up at Wal-mart. Came in clear plastic keep case. Possible that the cardboard cases are missing an advert for Zombie's new album of greatest hits w/bonus dvd coming out this halloween.

Note: went in to local FYE and they had it for $14.99(reg. $19.99) after mail-rebate. It is the cardboard case.

I opened mine, and didn't have any problems pealing it off, without so much as a mark on my case. Glad you guys gave me a heads up, else I would have thought nothing of it, and ripped it right off..

I just got back from Wally World. Guess which movie has a nice cute EMPTY place on the shelf? I'm sure they'll get more... at the very least I'll pick it up this weekend at Target.

Got mine at Best Buy and had some luck. No rips here! Odd that they have a pocket for an insert and no insert?

I had the exact same problem with Kingpin (also a Lion's Gate product). I started a similar thread but most folks thought it was my fault.......

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hlight=kingpin

I wrote to a number of Lion's Gate addresses with no response. DDD (where I ordered it) also said it was my fault and would not send a replacement.

I usually get sick of people complaining about dvd cases that certain films come in, but i have to jump on the bandwagon here. This case sucked. And much like a lot of others here,i tore some of the artwork too. To get off the subject, i was suprised how much i liked the film, wasn't anything groundbreaking in the horror genre but i thought it was entertaining.

I wish I had read this thread before going to buy it. I ripped off half of the top of the box, I was sooooo extremely pissed off!

Is there a way to contact Lions Gate and get a new case/box?

P.S. There are some places selling it in a clear keep case (i.e. Target & Blockbuster)

Thanks for the heads up, guys! This forum never ceases to amaze me.

After reading this, I decided to check out WalMart to see if they had Ho1,000C. Sure enough - they had the clear plastic cases - and selling them for $17.44 (beats BB's $17.99). I didn't think ultra-family friendly WalMart would even carry a title like this.

Again, thanks.
