what kind of dvd case is this?

does anyone have a disk like About a Boy (R1/Wide) with a case that has little snaps that say "open" that you need to flip before you can open the case??? I thought I was having a heart attack and was suddenly too weak to open the case (sitting in the dark, ready to watch a movie, it's impossible to notice the little tabs). I've never seen a case like this. I don't normally have my dvds spontaneously burst from their cases, so I wonder what the added security locks are for......(I don't see any manufacturers marks, just "patent pending")

I had the same thing happen to me. Was not for 'About a Boy' though. I don't remember the title. I'll check tonight.

Neither my About A Boy or Undercover Brother cases are like that. Just out of curiosity, where did you guys purchase your DVDs from?

I saw those cases with flip locks in Walmart. I also notice some cases have a red plastic device integrated into the cases that you have to cut out before opening the cases.

Only my Scorpion King dvd has the locks. I believe only Universal has those cases, and are not consistantly in a certain movie.

I think Walmart is the only place that receives these types of cases. Appears to be some sort of exclusive thing, where they ask that the movies be put in these cases. I hate these types of cases, btw.

Yes it is with Universal titles. I got them with Far From Heaven. It is easy to just break off these flaps though. That leaves you with a normal case.

The Hulk DVD with the Pilot and "Married" on it has a case like that. I just broke the tab off.

I have About a Boy, Bourne Identity and Gosford Park that aren't like that, but my copy of Orange County (that I bought at Best Buy) is like that. Orange County, by the way, is a Paramount Release.

in addition to Scorpion King and The Pianist, my copy of The Hours has the clips (also a Paramount release).

My copies of Far From Heaven and Bourne Identity don't have them.
