Maybe one day when I win the lottery. I don't think I'd put down 50 bucks for it. It sounds cool, but I'm not a big fan of the musical performances on SNL. I prefer the sketches. But I'm glad they included so many sketches, maybe that will tempt me into buying it one day. But for me, I'll just be picking up "The Best Of Will Ferrell."
PS: No "Mighty Mouse" by Andy Kaufman? Darn! They have Spinal Tap though which is nice. And Andy's elvis, I guess that'll do.

I hope the "Ebony and Ivory" sketch isn't duplicated on the first two discs.
The problem with this set is that it leaves out some great stuff. Where's James Taylor doing "Shower the People"? Where's Stevie Ray Vaughan doing "Say What"? This looks more like the best of what they managed to get copyright clearance on.

It looks good, but there could stand to be some better stuff.
Kauffman's Mighty Mouse would have been good. So would The Clash's Straight To Hell or a performance by Smashing Pumpkins. This is on my wishlist, and I may get it one day, but at the price I doubt it.

I'd buy the first disc if it were available separately. Many great performances, especially from the 70s and early 80s, didn't make the disc -- I presume because they coulldn't get a release. For instance, the Stones did great versions of "Shattered," "Beast of Burden" and "Respectable" on one memorable episode (the one with the Snyder sketch). None are included.
And for my money we're getting too many sketches and too few tunes.

So much music.. So many missed peformances. I know they can't please everyone, but when I heard of this disc, three came to mind.. Rickee Lee Jones, Joe Jackson, and James Talylor's Shower the People (as already mentioned) with that reel-to-reel backing... Hard ta buy anything with Hanson's Mmmm Bop on it..or Ricky Martin... :-)
Maybe they should have released a few discs.. Maybe by genre...or years...
I'm gonna have to pass...but I'd love to buy some of the performances on this disc...just not the whole thing.
