batman se rumors at htf

this must be a rumor (and only in my dreams a true one) that I found on htf, I can't confirm anything on this so, hopefully its true

New details about the fourthcoming special edition DVD release of the 1989 Batman film have emerged. These details below should only be treated as rumour at this point. The information is from www.batman-on-film.com.
It will be a two disc release:

1. Tim Burton, Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson Commentary Track
2. Jon Peters and Peter Guber Commentary Track
3. Isolated Score with Optional Danny Elfman Commentary Track.
4. Bat trivia

DISC TWO

1.The Summer of Batman ( Feature Length All new Documentary )
2.Bat be Gone ( Deleted Scenes- filmed and Unfilmed hosted by Tim Burton )
3.MUSIC VIDEOS( Prince’s Bat-Dance and Party Man and Elfman’s Batman Theme )
4.Original 1989 ABC 20/20 Spot
5.Original 1989 HBO making of segment
6.Original Various 1989 Cast and crew Interviews

DVD ROM FEATURES on Disc 2

1.Script/ Storyboard to screen.
2.Web links.

PLUS

10 page booklet featuring newly found photos.

Plus mini versions of the Teaser, Advance and DVD posters.
'Mr. Creaker' It reads:

I was also told that BATMAN RETURNS is getting a similar treatment. Both discs should be out around Christmas time, There is a possibility that BATMAN FOREVER will also be released with them, Not to sure about BATMAN AND ROBIN. From what I’m hearing Joel Schmacher already started a reworked cut of BATMAN FOREVER sometime after B&R. You may have even read that around 1998 it was planned for a fall release. This may possibly get released as a Special Edition this fall, But that is only if Schmacher and the WB work out some time for it to be properly done. Burton had some people working on these discs over the past year while he was filming big fish. As of now the commentary tracks have not been recorded but should be later next month after Burton is done with post production of Big Fish. All people and Features on this and Batman Returns have been yet to be finalized but everything seems to be rolling just fine. My source has been hooking me up, He let me scan this cover art and said he is going to be sending me some more good stuff as it comes in. So hopefully that Batman Returns Cover art won’t be too far off. He also told me to expect Alternate or New Covers for BATMAN ( as you can see ), BATMAN RETURNS and BATMAN FOREVER ( If it makes it ). This is being done so people do not confuse the new discs with the older ones.

OMG, those extras sound awesome!

I hope we get SEs of all four Batman films. (Yes, even Batman & Robin)

If that's supposed to come out this year, I seriously doubt it's legit. Plus, I just don't see Nicholson recording a commentary and didn't Peters and Guber have a falling out? Thought I read that somewhere. Still, one can hope. A new transfer would be great and I've always wanted to see some of the deleted stuff. I've only seen pictures of one deleted moment with a little girl in the alley.

One of the best features to include would be that 20/20 segment recorded in 1989. I saw it in '89 and have it on tape(one of many reasons I still have my vcr) and I think it's one of the best 'making of' segments ever made for TV.

Warner just said recently in a HTF Chat that they were going to wait until the next Batman movie before release SEs.

Yeah...good luck getting Keaton and Nicholson to do a commentary. I think that gives it away as being fake.

And i also think it's a bit too "complete" which screams "fanboy."

What was the 20/20 special?

Total fake. Has Jack Nicholson EVER done a commentary? Do you think Batman would be his first choice?

It's a great segment that runs about 15 minutes but its nicely produced and packed with lots of info on the character and film. Here's a rundown of what it contains.

There's an interview with Bob Kane about the origins of Batman, his inspirations ranging from Da Vinci, The Bat Whispers to The Mark Of Zorro. There's also a clip from the silent classic The Man Who Laughs, his inspiration for the Joker.

It shows the various incarnations of Batman over the years, from the 40's serials to the campy TV series to the graphic novels of the 80's.

There's an interview with Tim Burton, his beginnings as a filmmaker where they show clips of the then unreleased Frankenweenie. He discusses comic books, his approach to the material, and the choice of Keaton for Batman.

There's an interview with production designer Anton Furst, where the reporter and he walk around the Gotham City sets. He describes the various architectural influences that went into designing Gotham.

Lastly there's Danny Elfman in his studio working with some video playback for the score. He talks about the style of the music he was aiming for and plays the scene from the film where Batman first takes Vicki to the batcave.

Keaton, Nicholson, and Burton commentary? We have a better chance of getting Adam West to do a commentary.

As sweet as it sounds I have my doubts. I do remember watching the 20/20 special when it aired in 89 and how excited it got me for the movie.

Left out of the original article:

"Previously reported as having a Tim Burton, Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson Commentary Track, we can NOW confirm that Burton, Keaton & Nicholson do NOT provide commentary on the disc. Instead, WB has contracted the three to HAND DELIVER each PERSONALIZED copy of Batman:SE and guarantee they will stick around to watch it with you [at least ONCE] while talking* through it."

* [Using glorious THX Certified sound, of course..]

Plus WB was gonna coincide the release with the next Batman film which won't be in theatres in December.

Now that's not a bad little feature. I mean, who wouldn't wanna watch a movie with Jack? Tim Burton's cool too of course, and Michael Keaton...........well, he can autograph my copy of Jackie Brown then go get us some pizza.
