the Running Man specail edition coming first quarter 2004

htf

The Running Man: Special Edition is on the way from Artisan in the first quarter of 2004. It will include a brand new anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 6.1 soundtracks.

I wish I have know earlier.

I hate double dipping.

Too many DVDs. Guess I'll keep my old one.

fumanstan 08-06-03 03:42 PM

Awesome! Glad i waited on picking this up to add to my Arnold collection :)

purplechoe 08-06-03 04:12 PM

[Arnold]You're fighered![/Arnold] :)

I guess I'll pick this one up if it's cheap enough. I hope the DTS track is at least decent. A lot of Artisans DTS tracks are pretty crappy.

Brain Stew 08-06-03 04:18 PM

Screw, T2, this is Arnold's greatest movie. The dialogue is the funniest thing I have ever heard:

Damon Killian: You bastard! Drop dead!
Ben Richards: I don't do requests.

Ben Richards: Killian, here's your Subzero, now plain zero.

Ben Richards: Uplink underground, uplink underground. If you say that one more time, I'll uplink your uplink your ass, and you'll be underground!

Amber: [after Richards cut Buzzsaw in half with a chain saw] What happened to Buzzsaw?
Ben Richards: He had to split.

Ben Richards: [after strangling Sub-Zero with barbed wire)] What a pain in the neck.

Kaffe_02 08-06-03 04:29 PM

Ben Richards: Ill be back
Damon Killian: Only in a rerun

Any info on what special features this will have?

randyba 08-06-03 06:44 PM

This is news that I have been waiting for.

BlackBeauty92 08-06-03 07:08 PM

16X9 anamorphic & DTS.... wohoo!

Iron_Giant 08-06-03 07:40 PM

Has any one else read the short story that the movie was based on, the Stephen King short story was also called "The Running Man".

When I first heard they were making movie out of the story I was fired up, but the movie has very little in it that is like the book.

Sessa17 08-06-03 07:44 PM

This justifies years of DVD collecting & agonizing. This is one of my ALL-TIME favorite movies. And I've constantly resisted buying it b/c of the crappy DVD.

Tarantino 08-06-03 08:05 PM

"I pick...I pick...I pick Ben Richards!"

SWEET! This is one of my favorite old school movies and I never picked up the original!

Thanks for the news!

jekbrown 08-06-03 08:17 PM

is it a coincidence that Ah-nald is "running" for gov of CA?

Dude, I loved this movie as a kid. I'm totally there.

Revoltor 08-06-03 10:36 PM

Excellent!

Hopefully a Commando SE isn't too far off.

Rammsteinfan 08-06-03 11:58 PM

marty888 08-07-03 06:45 AM

Are we sure this is the feature film, and not a documentary on his political aspirations? -wink-

I think "Running Man" was one of the stories he released under the Bachman name. I believe he actually sued to have his name removed from this because it had little to do with the story, much like the Lawnmower Man.

You are 100% correct.

The book was much better. Everytime I see the movie on TV, I always think, "If they only made it like the book...".

Amber: Why should I help you!
Ben: Because I am going to say pleeeaseee.

Amber: I am going to throw up all over you!
Ben: Go ahead won't show up on this shirt.

Ben: You must be very proud of yourself.

OMG soooo many classic Awnold lines in this movie. This post totally just made my day. I was kinda peeved we were not going to see Conan 3 due to Arnold's political run.

But The Running Man SE! Ahh that hit the spot.

Never say never about King Conan. It's in the pre-planning stages right now. King Conan Thread

Inverse 08-07-03 02:34 PM

Nope, King Conan is out. Turns out he wasn't eligible because he wasn't actually born in Cimmeria, so they're making Governor Conan instead.

<rim shot>

Thanks folks! I got a million of 'em!
