Iron Giant: SE - Release delayed???
Does anybody have any further information on this? I have come across three places that confirm this: 1) Listed on dvdaf.com as "RELEASE DELAYED"; 2) No longer shown as available for pre-order on the Columbia House site; and 3) Not listed on Amazon (I'm not sure if it ever has been since I pre-ordered it from CHDVD).
Any detailed info would be appreciated.

I'm thinking the director of IG has another movie coming out soon and they're going to cross promote it.

Yes, DVDFile... TheDigitalBits... etc. reported about a month ago that the release has been delayed (new date TBA). It's assumed that it will now come out in early 2004 in a cross-promotion (as milo bloom says).

Crap. If it has been a month since it was reported as delayed, then how come CH had this listed with a release date of 8/26 as recent as last week? Those buggers...

Actually 2 months.
The Digital Bits reported it on 5/30: http://www.thedigitalbits.com/mytwocentsa73.html

Y'know, with the already-excellent transfer and sound on the original release, I'm beginnning to suspect that the eventual SE will wind up underwhelming us all.
I just wish this damn cardboard snapper case wasn't falling apart from overuse. (It's my grandson's favorite movie, right behind King Kong vs. Godzilla... or - as he calls it - "Godzilla fights The Big Monkey" )
Any links to a custom cover?

SOOOOOOOOOOOPERMAN.
Damn all the delays... I sold my old copy because it WAS coming and now I am Iron Giant-less. Thankfully Cartoon Network ran it for 24 hours and I think I watched it for at least 20!

No. It's a 1 disc, with a snapper case.
The feature listed are:
- Commentary by Directore Brad Bird, Head of Animation Tony Fucile, Story Department HEad Jeff Lunch and Steven Markowski, Animation Supervisor for the Giant
- 8 Additional Scenes including an Alternate Opening and a Giant's Dream Sequence.
- 13 Branching Minidocumentary segments highlighting key sequences from the Viewpoint of Score, Character Design, Storyboards and Animation.
- Bird an Creative Consultant Teddy Newton analyze the movie's "Annie Meets Kent" and "Duck and Cover" sequences.
- "The Voice of the Giant" Featuring Brad Bird and Vin Diesel
- Still Gallery
I would post a picture but I don't have a host. Anybody would host it for me?
