Spacecraftfilms Apollo Mission DVDs
I just found this site http:www.spacecraftfilms.com that has put out a number of the Apollo mission feeds complete. They are multi-disc sets with every bit of film made without commentary. There are also 2-disk overview sets of some of the missions.
It seems that some of their releases witll now be through 20-Century Fox so they will not be available anymore. Fox is releasing a few in August.
Does anyone have any of these? Is the footage in black and white or color? They seem real interesting, although I don't have the cash for some of the multi-disc sets.
I'm particularly interested in the Project Gemini set coming from Fox at the end of August.

Jonathan,
Thanks for this post... I just ordered 3 of them (Apollo 8, 11 and The Saturns) from DVDSoon, who had each for abouot 31 bucks and change. Quite a savings from the website. The 3 I ordered aren't due out for 3 weeks so, I'll let you know then.

I have .......
>> STS-109 (Columbia Hubble mission).
>> Apollo 8 (3 discs).
>> Apollo 11 (3 discs).
Color vs. B&W? ..... Most of the footage is in color.
They're not cheap by any means ($54.99 for the 3-discers -- but Amazon has them cheaper), but the massive amount of material presented is nice to have (if a bit dry and tedious in many places). The menus are first-rate.
Nice multi-angle liftoffs.
My favorite is the STS-109 disc. It features a very nice "Slide Show" presentation ("Photo Gallery" in the parlance of DVD terms). Over 100 photos taken by the Shuttle crew in space. Plus there's a beautiful dawn liftoff, with multiple angles available. Crank it up & let your sub please you!
The Apollo 11 program shows the roll-out of the vehicle stack. Quite interesting there. Plus, of course, every last bit of TV "downlink" transmissions on both Apollo 8 & 11 missions.
I didn't care for "The Mighty Saturn" discs myself (sold mine). Approx. 80% of the material on all those discs (6 discs among two programs) is presented with NO AUDIO at all. Of course, there was NO audio for Mark Gray (@ SpacecraftFilms) to use on these discs, so we can't blame anybody for this dead silence. But I can't really get "into" watching hour after hour of space material in complete silence. Even the liftoff sequences featuring EVERY single Saturn blast-off are presented with no audio. Too bad. Because, to me, the window-shattering sound of launch is the best part; (no audio on launch equates to going to a rock concert and discovering all the speakers in the theater have been turned off.) But, ardent space fanatics probably will still love them for the video portions alone, and the "complete" nature of all the vast amount of footage shown.
Supposedly, DVDs on the last Columbia mission (STS-107), along with STS-51L (Challenger), Apollo 13, and "The Development Of The Space Shuttle" are in the works for future release.

Slightly off-topic ..... But if you're interested in things that fly (like Saturn rockets and space shuttles), it's not unreasonable to think that some of you might like airplanes as well.
If so, you can spend hundreds of hours in the cockpits of every commercial airliner imaginable at www.justplanes.com.
I've collected a ton of "Just Planes" products. Anyone else have any?
There are several other aviation-related sites that sell DVDs/Videos as well, including www.planetapes.com, www.avionvideo.com, www.itvv.com, www.iapv.com, and www.airutopia.com.
