How many TV on DVD episodes at a time?

I just bought another season of Friends, and after going through the first disc, I was wondering...How many episodes of any given show do you top out on during one sitting? Personally, I like to just finish one disc, so in the case of Friends, 6 episodes, and in the case of 24, 4 episodes. I think I pretty much watch TV shows by this guideline. Anyone else?

depends on the day, mood, show. Some you can go for a while into a couple discs in a row, and sometimes only one or two at a time.

Yeah, if I got the time, I'll polish off half a season. Normally, I'll try to get at least 2 episodes in.

I usually can't do a whole disc in one sitting. If it's an hour-long show, I'm good for 2-3 eps. If it's a half-hour show I can go through about 3-5 at a time.

When it's shows like The Family Guy, Simpsons, or South Park, I usually watch them whenever i'm in the mood. But for shows that following a storyline every week, I usually finish them ASAP. I watched both seasons of OZ in 4 days combined, and I usually finish a Sorpranos season in less then a week.

I finished all of Friends Season 4 in one sitting.

Normally I whip thru the TV sets I buy very fast.

Since I have 4-5 different TV shows I'm working on at the same time (DVD changer), I tend to only watch a single episode per sitting.

Most times, I don't have time for more than that.

Depends on the day and the show. Usually I'll wait until the weekend to get to TV shows and then polish them off in three days (extras and all). 1 or 2 discs of a show per day depending on the amount of work I have to do.

Well, I guess I'm in the minority. I only watch one episode per sitting. That's the way they were originally seen, and I think some shows hold up better that way.

Usually I'll spend about an hour and a half - so 2 episodes of the 1-hour shows, or 4 episodes of a sit-com.

For the most part I will spend an hour, two at most. However I did once spend 13 hours straight watching the first season of 24 and 9 hours watching the third season of Buffy. It really depends on my schedule, and most of the time I don't even have two hours to watch a full movie nowadays, let alone 20+ hours of televison.

I typically watch until I pass out. I find that I can actually watch more hour-long dramas in a row than half-hour comedies, since the dramas are often much more engaging. That being said, however, I cannot watch fewer than 45 episodes of SportsNight in a single sitting. Once I start that train, I'm on board until the end.

Once I watched about 6-7 episodes of Xfiles in a row, that ruined it for me, now I can only watch 1-2 episodes at a time.

Given what I know about your TV viewing habits, I'm beginning to think there's a lot more hours in a das day than the typical 24 hours the rest of us are allotted.

Don't go blaming me for petitioning the TV Gods for an extra 4 hours. Lemme guess ... you waste a third of your day doing nothing, am I right? With that attitude, why should the Gods give you more hours? You're not even using the ones you have!

Gee vid, do you also wait a week between sittings? Because that is the way they were originally aired, so I'm sure they hold up better that way. (Don't forget the 15-25 week 'breaks' between seasons.)

yeah, really depends on the show. The X-files, I recently picked up 3 season sets... thats like 70+ eps, I savor them.. watch one or 2 at a time.

24 on the other hand, I absorbed in like 2 days... just a whirlwind of continuous 24, I just got THAT into the show.
