Predator SE- What gives?

One of Arnie's greatest flicks with an SE treatment gets released everywhere else except the US?
I don't understand it... have they gone nuts?!
This has simply become my number 1 to get DVD now. I dont think i can wait any longer or i'll go insane.
And i couldn't buy a Region 2 because i have a Region 1 Playstation 2.

And the R2 one is great stuff man. You should invest in a region free player (Toshiba 3900 is at Best Buy for like $100, plays everything).

Get a region 2 player. And don't go on about how unfair it is - consider how a lot of the SEs in [i]this[/i country never come out overseas.

If only we could drop the useless french language track most DVDs have.

To tell you the truth, I picked this one up in R2 form and really wasn't that impressed with it. There was a lot in the documentary that was just "Arnold is a great man, McTiernan is a great director, etc" I just didn't find it that interesting. A lot of the interviews are really old, so there is very little retrospective feel to it. But maybe that was just me. I sold it and have the R1 DTS version.

Have to agree. If its an American film it should be released in its best form in America. Brotherhood of the Wolf got its best release in France as did Amelie. There's no reason why a domestic film should be getting the shaft here.

I doubt the current R1 DTS release will look or sound better unless they spend the money to completely restore it (which I doubt since it looks pretty good and sounds very good for its age). I'm sure R1 will see a SE with a second disc of extras, but the same transfer. I'll pass. I will only buy if a restoration is done.
