American Pie Beneath the Crust Editions. Extra Disc via Mail?

I was just wondering if anybody knows if Universal will offer current owners of these films the option to get the Beneath the Crust Discs via a mail in offer?

Or is it required to buy the same editions just to get these "Beneath the Crust" discs?

I already own the Un-Rated Collectors Editions of these films, and was interested in buying these updated versions, but now that it appears that these are the same discs I own with just another Disc added. I highly doubt I will buy them again. All I want is the Beneath the crust discs, not buy the movie again.

Another question is. Does anybody know if the Beneath the Crust discs come in their own Case or is the movie case now turned into a 2-disc case to hold the bonus disc?

Universal did offer current owners of the Jurassic Park films the option to send in for the Bonus Jurassic Park disc, I hope that they offer current owners of the American Pie films the same option.

Just wait. The Beneath the Crusts that come with AP1 and AP2 are actually just samplers of the full Beneath the Crust that covers all three movies in when AP3 comes out on DVD in December.

Where did you hear that when American Wedding comes to DVD that it will contain Beneath the Crust DVD?

Just want to confirm that these same Beneath the Crust features will be released with AP3.

If so, then this is good news. I won't have to waste money on these and just buy AP3 on DVD.

You know, I wish I had a concrete place for you to reference. I know it came from the series' writer or director, I forget which. The article was mentioning how the creative team took a much more active role in the AP3 DVD as opposed to AP1 + 2 which were much more studio controlled. THey said 1 and 2 were being re-release with partial versions of the full Beneath the Crust featured on American Wedding.

Good info! I still haven't picked these up, thinking that there would eventually be a box set of all three movies. I figured that the Beneath the Crust features would somehow make it into that supposed box set.

Here's a link to an article about the material contained in the Beneath the Crust DVD's.

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment...lines-calendar

AdamComic 2 is correct about the material on the Crust Volumes 1 & 2 being a preview for the full 3 1/2 hour Beneath the Crust that will be on the American Wedding DVd in December.

Okay, but I didn't buy either of these releases previously, and since I'll probably go see American Wedding anyway, I may as well get the extra discs now, and the free movie tickets, right?

Right?

Or should I get the Ultimate Edition of the first film?

Gah. I'm expecting a big ol' boxed set to come out when the third movie hits DVD, too, probably for about half as much as the current releases.

And what the heck is the difference between the "body band" and "taco shell" versions?

And why are there no less than 10 different versions of these discs being released today?

Man, I go away for a month and I miss out on EVERYTHING. I have to hurry up and read up on this stuff...

They also showed a censored version of clips from Beneath The Crust on the VH1 special "Behind the Movie: American Pie Saga."

At least that's what it looked like they cover all the same stuff the discs advertise on TV.

It should also be noted that the "Collector's Edition" of "American Pie", which is the one packaged with "Beneath the Crust" is inferior than the "Ultimate Edition" version. The "UE" is a 2-disc set but the second disc is a total waste because it's just the fullscreen edition of the film. Aside from the different (butchered)aspect ratio, the only thing on disc 2 that's not on disc 1 is three trailers: "American Grafitti", "The Blues Brothers" and "Animal House". They don't have anything to do with "AP" other than the Universal connection. I don't see why Universal doesn't just release disc 1 of the UE as a single-disc, rather than just re-releasing the CE. The UE has more features, DTS and an improved transfer.

Okay, what's different between the UE and the CE?

I noticed that too GuruAskew... Why would they 'revert' back to an older edition of the film, when they've already put together a superior edition (the UE) with more features, including some interesting deleted scenes.

Looking in vain once again for any logic in Universal's decisions...

And here's another question: the specs all say that you can "send in" for a free ticket to American Pie 3.

Well, it opens on Friday. And the discs just came out today (Tuesday).

So are they going to wait to send you tickets until after it's *left* theaters?

Shakes head...

I believe you send in your ticket stub and they'll send you a refund...
